Blockbuster had a no-porn policy and wouldn't even stock nC-17.

My birth year shouldn't be that hard to figure out. I'm not even close to being a boomer

I miss a ton of stuff about my childhood in the 80s and 90s. Video store on a Friday night with my parents is near the top of the list.

The convenience is nice. I just think Hollywood's creativity has taken a nosedive since the 90s. I can't remember the last great movie that I've seen.

This is what happens with age. You went from having all the movies at your disposal to only new movies being at your disposal. Same with music and other things. Someone born today will decide around 25 that Hollywood stopped producing good movies in the 2020s.

Most movies suck now though. There might be one or two a year released that I have any interest in watching

It’s been a long time since there was a movie in the theaters that was worth watching.

We are in a dry spell.

No. I go online and purchase a digital copy from someone who likes to buy Blu-Rays and 4K Blu-Rays and then sell the digital copies online. Usually, for between $3 - $8 I can but these, enter the code on Vudu or Movies Anywhere and then I own it forever and watch it on any device anywhere I am.

I miss it for movies but renting nintendo games there just made my blood boil. I grew up in a small town so we only had 2 places that rented video games—and they each had MAYBE 15 games each. Most of the good ones stayed rented. I was stuck playing piles of shite like fester’s quest and the karate kid.

1994

Pulp Fiction
Forrest Gump
Shawshank Redemption
The Crow
Speed
Clerks
Interview with the Vampire
Dumb and Dumber
Natural Born Killers
Reality Bites
Disclosure

There aren't this many good movies released in a decade now. This is just a few from a single year.

I've watched some excellent television shows in the last decade so I don't think that it's simply that I'm older now.

Date night getting a Little Caesars pizza (double pizza in the big paper sleeve and a movie) was a legit weekend night. Kids today will miss out on that experience....and won’t know what they’re missing!
