. I just think Hollywood's creativity has taken a nosedive since the 90s

This, much like people's opinions on music, are heavily skewed by what's popular.

There are more movies and albums made now that ever before. Most mainstream stuff sucks, but you have access to anything you want to see or hear. Go search.

I will admit, Netflix is a bit overrated, but do I miss going to the video store? Hell no. In fact, I get to see a lot more movies now that I can stream them or get them onDemand.

It's just being able to watch it on my time. When you had to go to a video store, it could be at night and you think "I would like to watch......" and the store would be closed or whatever. There were times I would rent a movie, something else came up, I didn't watch it that day and ended up having to bring it back without watching it.

So no. I do not miss video stores at all.

I feel like these are one of those nostalgic things that once you’re able to have it again, it wouldn’t be as amazing as you remembered it to be

Not really. The lines were usually long at peak times and half the time they didn't have what you were looking for. If so may people actually loved going to video stores then there would probably be a few more around.

I miss it because it was a mini event. It was a part of the movie experience.

You walk around, look for flicks. Maybe make a little small talk with somebody about what's good. In the check out maybe you're girlfriend picks up some sour patch straws and you grab some malted milk balls.

It was a little something to do. A reason to get out of the house for about 30 minutes or so. It was fun to do.

Streaming and redbox sucks the big veiny.

Only boomers would say eating malted milk balls and waiting in line to rent a movie are enjoyable experiences

Most movies suck now though. There might be one or two a year released that I have any interest in watching.

Get off my law too.

I remember the blockbuster by me had a section in the back with an adult section. There was a movie called "Humpkin Pie". I use to like to go pass by just to see if I saw anyone I knew looking in the adult section..

But this dude I knew use to work at a family owned video rental place near me and there was a different room specifically for adult movies. You had to be 18 and over to go in, but the best part was that the dude who worked there would always tell us who would rent porn.

Some people use to wait til Tuesday or Wednesday about 5 mins before they closed to go in, grab a porn, check out and leave.. Because no one was usually in there at the time.

He said there was this woman who came in about twice a month, go get a porn, and everytime complain about how there wasn't any porn for women...

I'm not a boomer

There were twice as many great movies made in the 90s than in the past 15+ years
