Unfortunately yes. I wish they made more but I make as much in a month as they make in a year.

Yes. But it took me until I was 35.

At my age, 26, I make double what they made combined at my age. At their retirement age, I am waaayyyy south of income. Dad was a seismic engineer for Schlumberger with 30 years with them. He was around 200k with his offshore bonuses.

My wife is a teacher. My mom was an admin for Schlumberger as well.

I make more than my dad did but that was not the case until just 3 years ago. My mom is/was a housewife. My wife owns her own business so together we blow both of them out the water.

No idea. If I had to guess, I probably make more than either of them did at the peak of their professions in the 90's early 2000's.

My dad makes more than I do, but my wife and I make more than him and my stepmom since she doesn't work. I've made more than my mom since the first day at my career job

And this is a big reason state governments are broke.

My parents are long dead and didn't leave behind any residual financial structures (trusts, foundations, etc) so the OP's original question doesn't apply.

Maybe a more widely applicable question would be:
"Do you make more at the same age as your parents did when they were your present age? (Adjusted for inflation)"

My parents did well but my standard of living and money management have afforded me a better life experience so far. We'll see how retirement goes when it comes up, I'm almost scared I might live to 90+.

The results here are surprising. I figured it would be overwhelmingly "yes" answers.
