I used to. Now it happens less often. Even if I think I’ve got it under control, that monster can sneak out.

I hate that about myself. I’ve apologized profusely for it, but it doesn’t matter. If you hurt someone’s feelings bad enough, it’s like a trauma that will stay with them.

Not anymore. I used to be a fricking hot head. Now, there’s not much worth losing my temper over.

I flipped a woman off who almost hit me in the Super One Foods parking lot this morning. So I go 0 to 100 pretty quick, pardon the reference.

Do you let things build up, and blow up over something insignificant?

Two teen boys and an overbearing mom at home.

My house doesn't function without an hour of their back and forth and me hollering for 30 seconds

It’s almost always the wife’s fault, but the crap lands on the two boys.

No. I’m too proud of being able to make mature, rational decisions.

I would occasionally blow up when I was young, like in high school or college. Not so much anymore, I don’t enjoy having my blood pressure shoot up and wanting to mangle somebody. You tend to say or do stupid things that you can’t take back when you’re pissed off, and people won’t forget it.

I preach self control, but not in the way that most people approach it. Most people see self control as not exhibiting bad behavior. To me, self control is exactly what the words imply, maintaining control of your own actions (internal locus of control). When you allow outside events or people to affect you (external locus of control), you give up "self" control. That idiot that cut your off or the kid that annoys you.. is that really who you want directing your emotions?

I also have a heavy bag in the storage room / shop.

As far as glove fix....soak in white vinegar if it has mildew. Scrub, rinse it let it dry....then make him use the stinky glove at practice until the smell goes away.

That's what I did to my son 10+ years ago.

To quote Hank Hill, "I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem." I'm usually chill, but throw some chick with an IQ of 80 looking at her phone doing 60mph in the left lane and I'm rabid. Oh, and people who get off an escalator and freaking STOP right there and look around to plan their next move, completely oblivious that others behind them would also like to get off the escalator. The lost temper usually stems from people who are oblivious to their surroundings.
