Do you live in Louisiana? If so, are you an adult? If so, are you a male? If so, have you never been invited to a supper? I don't know anyone who has or attends "dinner parties".

It depends. If I'm the only one who drinks that beer or if it's an expensive beer, I take it home. If it's just a cheap domestic beer, I leave it. I always take liquor back with me.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes. I've been invited to both supper and dinner parties; so I have two different views of them. My view of supper is just a small informal dinner. I call eating dinner with my family supper; or maybe with a couple of additional friends. Dinner parties, in my experience, are more formal, you're there with work associates. I work in a corporate setting, so they are pretty frequent.

I guess I have been to dinner parties before, then. Just they've always been at restaurants or catered events. So I've never brought my own alcohol. Events such as office Christmas dinners, Wedding rehearsal dinners, etc. The alcohol has always been provided.

Where I come from we dont have "dinner parties". We have a supper where someone cooks something and we sit around drinking alcoholic beverages. Rarely is there any wine. We dont dress up in a suit and tie, or evening gowns either. Ice chests are to hold drinks for chilling so anytime we have a get together, there will be ice chests. You sound like a fricking snob.

Since when are dinner parties snobby?

I thought they were just excuses for groups of parents to hire a baby sitter so they can all drink wine

It's trashy to take your food/beverages/gifts back with you. Unless the host encourages you to bring it back with you.

If I bring whiskey to a party, that shite is going back with me. I must be going to more redneck based parties.
