Monday- Thursday I go to work and come home and enjoy dinner with the wife and kids
That is over 50% of the week and I guarantee the majority of Nola people and people from every city do the same
Friday night I go out to dinner with friends usually. Nola people do the same
Saturday I go to the park or the lake and fish with my little man, then grill out with friends usually
I would say 95% of families in Nola do the same, with festivals or parades being thrown in occasionally
Sunday is church, and relaxing and football
That is the standard weekend. And it is the standard weekend for almost all young families
People complete oversell "the boredom, or extreme more fun" Nola has to offer

Crime statistics are pure BS as the NOPD has been manipulating those statistics for years. Murder declassified to an Unknown Death. Attempted Murder downgraded to Simple Assault. Assault downgraded to no victim found because they sent NOPD officers to location 18 hrs later.

Dude if you love the suburbs good for you. But you dont have to convince yourself that living on the northshore has all the benefits of living in a city.

I get newer more eye appealing infrastructure, a brand new home for the same ppsqft I paid on my 1961 home, and a great public school

Yea that's true. Or if you work from home.
Being an hour from new orleans just defeats the purpose of living by it at all. Jefferson parish seems more reasoable if you want to eat at a nice restaurant in town and grab a drink with friends
Driving drunk or ubering across the causeway isn't really practical

If you live Uptown what are you surrounded by? Houses, restaurants, and shops

And you can certainly grill out every weekend in your back yard by yourself there. And shop at a piggly wiggly the size of a drug store. And drive 20 min to eat at a decent restaurant

But I like a true neighborhood with one entrance/exit where the streets are quiet and the kids can run from house to house and street to street over the convenience of walking to restaurants
I go out to eat once a week on average. That convenience doesn't do much for me
