2 of my cousins.

We aren't blood related, it was just by marriage, but they are brothers (well sisters).

I haven't seen them in a long time, my aunt is no longer married to their dad, but they both seem to be doing fine.

The one I keep up says she's happier.

2. One is a 21 year old girl who ALWAYS sort of presented as a boy. When she became an adult, she started looking into "top" surgery, which she just had. I tried to get her to wait until she was at least 25, but she didn't. She's intelligent and kind, but I still don't like the decision made so early, despite her being an adult now.

The other is a 32 year old "non-binary" dude. Radically intelligent coder at some of the biggest tech firms. Really nice, but extremely militant on this topic.

Yes I have a couple of friends (including a best friend) who are trans and they’re incredible humans. They live in Portland and Montana.

I feel like having multiple trans friends would be like having multiple midget friends. Incredible odds unless you are a midget too.

This is an unintentionally hilarious comment if you use the actual definition of "incredible" (impossible to believe).

1 person out of all of the people I knew from my high school and the high schools in the surrounding area was trans. 1 person out of maybe 1800 people and that statistic is enough for the country to bend over backwards for these frickin weirdos. frick em.

A guy who works for the same company but in another state decided to transition. We were on teams that had a lot of interaction and he came across as a really nice guy. An HR person sent out an email outlining their preferred pronouns and how we had to be respectful, etc. The transitioner let everyone know he didn’t care about the pronouns and knew we’d eventually slip
Up but it would be an innocent mistake. He/she started hormone therapy and their voice got much higher. We stopped interacting much and he was on a call with me for the first time in a long time. His profile picture on the Zoom meeting was a guy with dreadlocks and his voice was definitely deeper like it was before the transition began. He has the same new name but it’s ambiguous. No idea what’s going on but he has the same upbeat persona. I hope he’s doing well.

Apparently they had been going by a different name at school for over a year. One friend was at the house and fk’d up and called them the new name and i was confused but just blew it off. Thought maybe it was just a nickname.

To be fair, one introduced me to the other (they both know each other from living in Missoula). We climbed Mount Hood the day after in winter conditions. Have you climbed Mount Hood in winter conditions? I doubt it. Awesome trip!

Went to senior year of high school with a black guy who had moved from NYC. Super cool dude, ladies man, good athlete. He joined the army after high school. I met up with him one weekend when he was stationed not far from where I was living at the time. Went out drinking, telling stories, cutting up...normal dude stuff. He had a newborn daughter with his girlfriend at the time. We kept in touch for a couple years and then lost touch. A few years later Facebook becomes a thing and I find him on there. End up catching up over the phone and he tells me he is back living in NYC but is planning on moving to Portland. The whole conversation felt kind of off, but I couldn't place what it was. Not too long after that I see on Facebook he is in Portland living as a woman. Hair, makeup, boobs, changed his name, all out. Last person I would have ever expected, still tough to wrap my mind around it.
