Do You Know Anyone Who Claims To Be An Empath?

Awhile back I started a thread about my nephew (he is 27), my sister, his mother is my half sister and is 11 years older than I. Just providing some context.

Anyway, he and his wife are trashy AF. I don't have FB, but the wife evidently post shite all the time and every once in awhile she will post some crazy shite that someone will send to me.

Well evidently she is an empath and to be honest, this is the first time I ever heard of someone being an empath. I thought it was some trait in a fictional character. Anyway, her recent post talks about she is eliminating all of the negative energy in her life and that in 2021 she is going to surround herself with positive energy because her anxiety can't handle the negative.

I think its funny because she describes herself as an empath as if its a diagnosed condition, but evidently this is something she.. I guess.. has identified as for awhile. Are people who are empaths just crazy?
