A detective with the Myrtle Beach Police Department in South Carolina was placed on leave, and later fired, after he allegedly pointed his gun at a colleague who was warming up fish in the breakroom microwave, authorities announced June 2.
Michael Debiase, 46, pointed his police-issued weapon at a fellow officer who was warming up fish in the department’s breakroom microwave on May 30, according to an arrest affidavit shared by the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).
He was subsequently fired and booked into a Horry County detention center on June 2 on a felony charge of pointing and presenting a firearm at a person, SLED said in a news release.

Well, to be fair, that is one of the worst things you can do in an office.

He got angry because the smell reminded him of his ex-wife

My wife had a student worker who re-heated his 'coon (or was it 'possum) in the office microwave at LSU.
Everyone complained.

I just don't understand why people do it. Don't bring fish to work for lunch. Just don't. You know it will stink, and stink badly. Not defending the detective, but I do get where he's coming from.

My wife eats weird fermented Asian food that smells like wet farts. I have to ask her to tell me before she opens it.
Just for fun, go to 99 Ranch Market if you have one in your area. You will see things that even Cajuns wouldn't eat.

Most of the time I don’t reheat fish. Cold catfish is a delicacy. But if I do it’s in a air fryer

I bought something at Trader Joe's that looked like a sushi roll. Instructions said you could eat cold or hot.
I chose hot.
Bigly mistake.
Had to leave my house.

I don't generally eat leftover fish. I eat it freshly cooked.

only tangentially related.. when my son was 3 he loved canned sardines. LOVED them. They were so inexpensive, healthy and easy to pack I would send them to preschool for snack time until the teachers forbade me.
Sorry Miss Rachel.
