This, but Family Guy is my go-to.

Having background noise like a fan helps a lot. If I have someone to sleep with I can fall asleep right away but if I am alone I just can not fall asleep. It sucks!

On my third medication now and nothing seems to work. Takes me about 2 hours to fall asleep even when I feel tired and then I wake up like 3 hours later.
Sleep is over rated.

When your brain and body need sleep, you'll sleep.

We've been brainwashed into thinking we have to get a certain amount of sleep everyday. We don't.

Have 2 two kids under 4 and do a 2 year professional MBA program.

It's cost me about 150k but I sleep like a baby.

I drink but what really worked was recently quitting smoking. I can't stay awake once I lay down to watch a show.

I've had three. I have mild apnea but I hated the cpap

But I don't think that's the problem since my lack of sleeping is in phases

Doctor started out with a low dose of xanax (.25) then tried Ambien and now I am taking Lunesta. None of them work.

I've been there--hell, I am there. Sucks, don't it? About the only thing that really worked for me was high potency weed. I'd consider using again except it's too damn expensive, plus Florida will legalize sodomy with purple-assed baboons before it decriminalizes weed. Fortunately I play guitar, so I usually spend 12 midnight to 3 or 4 a.m. playing, writing songs or reading. Every once in a blue moon I might watch some porn.

That's exactly what I do.It used to be tapes of Seinfeld. Now it's usually It's Always Sunny on Netflix.

I can close my eyes and I've seen it so often I don't have to watch.

I relax.Slow my breathing down.I'm usually out before 1 episode.

I tried to have a study done recently, I didn't sleep. Rather counterproductive.

Xanax knocks me out, melatonin helps me fall asleep but not stay asleep.

But whatever the doctors at the county jail gives to prisoners works better than anything I've ever taken. I did 5 days about 2 years ago. Slept a total of 2 hours in the first 3 days, then one of my cell mates broke me off half of his sleeping pill and within 30 minutes I was out and slept like a baby for the next 8 hours. No idea what it was called but it worked like a charm
