maybe if i was stupid enough to pay hundreds, or thousand or more dollars for a pure breed with papers, and was using it to breed for money i would insure it.

you can pick up a dog or cat on any street in america to replace yours if they die, why in hell would anyone need insurance on them?

I do.
It's $20/month and pays for major surgery and a host of ailments after the $250 deductible. Don't want to have to make a choice between death of my pet and life-saving surgery.
Full disclosure: I sell pet insurance as well.

If your dog has regular problems like allergies then it’s actually a good idea and saves money over the course of a year. If your dog is a once year shots dog then it’s dumb as frick.

it’s so fricking cheap you’re basically an idiot for not having it.

Especially if you’re the same type of person that thinks vets are out to steal your money.

Frankly I have never known there was "insurance for pets" so no, I don't have it.

I've had many pets over the years, but I don't understand some people I've run into lately that will almost go without necessities in order to care for pets.

My sister-in-law is living on a fixed income and she spends more money a month on her cats and dogs than she does on herself. She will spend hundreds of dollars at the vet clinic on a 10 yr. old mutt with one foot in the grave and the other 3 on banana peels before she goes to see a Dr. for herself.

Priorities damnit!!!

I do.

Goldendoodle so not insuring something that already costed me $2K would be dumb.

Only $17 a month and goes with my truck/renters insurance.

I have it and thank god I did. 2 months into having my boy he dislocated his kneecap which required 3k in surgery and meds. Came out to around 600 with insurance.

With the premiums we have, it will take 15 years for them to break even on that policy.

Why not get it?

Yes, I do. Cost me close to 200K. My daughter is a Vet and yes, I get home services for my dog.

I had an expensive dog that had to have emergency surgery. Had the surgery for $4,000 and found out 2 weeks later it was cancer. She only made it 2 more weeks. Needless to say our $25 a month insurance paid the full amount.

Edit: Minus the $300 deductible.

Same.

Worth the $20/month IMO

The craziness over pet care seems like a recent phenomenon, except for the ca ladies and what not. 90% of the things a vet does can be diy.

I never did. Even a "large" vet bill is going to be an amount I can handle.

Yes. It's pretty cheap since it is covered through my employer.

Not really, idiot.
