I got really drunk drinking rum one night and puked the whole next day. Until this day when I smell rum I want to vomit.

I pulled an all-nighter working on an Windows Server administration class while drinking margaritas. Now every time I smell any kind of cheap margarita mix I think of Windows Active Directory.

There is the this Korean restaurant downtown near where I work. It is very popular and the food is pretty good. They have this one spicy chicken dish that has become my favorite However when co-workers get that same dish, from a distance it smells just like singed hair. I know, pretty disgusting, right? Hard to explain but it tastes far better than it smells and up close it doesn't smell like that, but now that I know how it smells to others around me I don't get that dish and eat it at work anymore.

When I was just a kid, close to my grandma's house, a young woman lost her life in a terrible three car accident. Every time I pass that intersection, walking or driving, I smell old gasoline. You smelled it before, gas that has been sitting in a container or an old junk car for a long time.

I can't explain it, but whenever I walk into a library, the smell of old books makes me want to take a dump.

The Stop N Shop convenience stores in Lafayette had barbecue shops attached to them. The comic book spinner rack in my neighborhood was next to the candy aisle. There've been a couple of times when I've had the two smells coincide and I was transported back to that store.

I once got hit with an umbrella from a guy that that had that gerry curl curl activator smell.

Now for the weird.. My mother use to wear this perfume, no idea of the name. Every so often when I am half asleep I will smell her perfume. It doesn't freak me out I just know the perfume smell.

Diesel fuel or onions.
In the late 60's, was in backseat of parent's car asleep with brother and sister, around 3 a.m., as we were traveling from FL to granny's place north of Alex. Somewhere in MS along the coast, I remember waking up to us being stopped in the rain, lights everywhere. One 18-wheeler carrying diesel fuel had crossed the centerline and slammed squarely head-on into another 18-wheeler carrying a load of onions. All you could smell was both, intermingled. Now when I smell one or the other, I go straight back to that night.

Peaches - I worked at a peach orchard as a freshman in high school, the owner told us the first day to eat all we wanted to.
I ate about 100 in two days and have not touched one since, he knew how to break you.
Just the smell of a peach makes me want to puke.
