My son is older than one of my half-siblings.

Yes. My dad abandoned my mom, sister and I as a young kid. He has two kids with his new family I have never met. I do not consider them anything at all.

I was the youngest in my family until my dad had a son about 12 years younger than me. Our relationship is good, but he's been in Hawaii in the Army for the last 4 years so I haven't talked to or seen him much. He'll be coming home for good next month so that should change.

Found out I had an older brother a few years ago that my father never knew about.
I have yet to meet him but his son comes and visits from Mobile, AL.

No half sibling.
Not really on topic either, but I do have a first cousin that is 29 years my junior. I am 32 and my aunt had a kid at 57.
Very weird dynamic when they are around.

Am adopted. Just found out who my birth parents were last year using Ancestry.com. Both have been gone for many years.
Have a half brother and sister on the Mom side. 2 half sisters and one half brother on the Dad side.
The sister on the mom side is the only one that's expressed an interest in getting to know me and stay connected.
The dad side siblings, at least one of the sisters, didn't react too well I guess knowing Dear Ol' Dad's story after so many years. The half brother was going to meet, but then I guess an uproar followed thereafter.

My sister's father passed in an accident when she was very young. Our mom married my dad a few years later. I've always thought of her as my sister and not half sister. Weird to consider doing otherwise, but that's based on my experience only

All of mine are "half." I'm the oldest and the only child from my mom's first marriage. Never actually think of them that way, though.

My dad was married no less than 7 times but I lost count of the actual number. I have full, half, and step siblings east to west from Texas to Florida and up north as far as Pennsylvania.

I have 3 half siblings. They are all 3 my sisters. No question about it. I did get to grow up around them at least 3-4 months out of the year though, since they were babies. So, I am sure that helped make a difference in our level of bond. I just drove 12 hours at the end of January to see 2 of my half sisters (Sisters) and a full blooded sister, as one of my "half" sisters just gave birth to my newest niece.
I love them as much as anyone. I would do anything for them.
