I know dad's of the birthday kid always appreciate it when other dads show up

so thats why I don't mind attending, I've been in their shoes, I know what its like

since we are all pretty much friends with each others friends spouses we kinda all go to each others. Same situation plays at all the parties.....the wives handle all the kids stuff presents cake etc while all the guys end up where the grill/fryer and ice chest full of beer is at. Pretty much every party ends up being either grilling deer burger or frying fish as the food so as far as the guys goes it is more of a cookout and beer party than kids birthday party.

This thread is hilarious to read. You can tell who has young kids/no kids from those with older kids based on the responses.

Young/no kids: Why wouldn't you want to spend time with your family and watch your kid have fun?

Older kids: frick no I'm not going to a fricking bday party for my wife's friend's kid.

I'm in the latter category. My wife wouldn't even think about asking me to go because I'd just laugh in her face. Who the hell wants to go to a stranger's house full of little screaming crumbcatchers running around? That's not a bday party, that's hell.

Disclaimer. In my experience, it is not a thing in the North West, Tennessee, or Missouri.

I edited the post for punctuation.

Even dying in a public bathroom, a man must have standards.

It’s even worse when you are asked to do this and you don’t have kids

This is the type of shite you sign up for when you got married. Grin and bear it.

Birthday parties are for women. I just hang out at the house, invite the boys over, and we jerk each other off. Much more of a manly experience than a dip shite little kid's birthday party.

I do, because if I don't go, my wife comes back telling me how out of control the boys are. If I go, the boys have a great time and aren't out of control.
