Do you follow the proper order of adjectives?

Most people follow the proper order of adjectives even though the rule is generally not taught in school. Most people, including me, can't recite the rule. But, most people also follow it.
The order of go for adjectives is opinion, size, physical quality, shape, age, color, origin, material, type and purpose.
For example: The unusual large rough square old red Japanese wood four-sided cooking stove was sold for $400 to AntiqueTiger.

Never heard of this ridiculous, silly, arbitrary rule

I read an article about this somewhere a few years back and it seems to hold true.
The article contended that this was part of the reason English is viewed to be so hard to learn.

People get to pick their pronouns now. Adjective rules don't apply here.

Shouldn't that read "The unusually large, rough, square, old, red, Japanese, wooden, four-sided, cooking stove was sold for $400......"?

sounds better than "that girl had some old big titties."

These are coordinate adjectives, so their order is irrelevant.

If writing should be about flow and rhythm and sound, not a silly arbitrary rule made up by some stuffed shirt.
quote:
That girl had some tig ol' bitties.
sounds better than "that girl had some old big titties."
Perfect example…but I’d still play with both

same... looking at a few writing samples, I apparently do this, but it's completely unintentionally
and as Fr33 mentioned, there are likely exceptions when word choice would flow better out of this prescribed order

I am offended that you are not using my preferred adjectives. Bigot.

What gets to me is the use of unnecessary adjectives.
Examples:
Totally destroyed or completely destroyed.
Totally invisible or completely invisible.
