I'm concerned that I will eliminate the safe space that is our neighborhood if I fly a flag of any sort. I don't wish to offend anyone.

What about a flag decal on your car?
quote:Yes. And tacky.
Is it trashy?

I fly an American flag on a pole mounted to my front porch post.
Me, too.
Also have a 3"×4" American flag decal on the back window of my SUV.
Only sticker on vehicle, so not trashy.

I like seeing people flying flags regardless of team, or political view. It shows that they have a little pride in who they are.
The only exception I have is someone flying a flag of another country while in my country without flying the American flag either with it and in the proper position.

Yup, US flag year round. US Army flag year round and Razorback flag during football season.

Having a garden flag.
Fly Red Sox during the summer and used to fly an NSU flag any other time. NSU flag got ripped so I'll probably fly the Nebraska one once baseball season ends. (lifelong Husker fan)

Don't own a US flag and probably won't in the future.
Auburn flag is out right now.
Various Confederate flags have been out in the past, along with state flags.
And the Masters flag.

Gadsden Flag sticker on all my cars.
Im sure Ill get downvoted to oblivion for this but these are my thoughts I cant help them.
I find it strange that Americans so proudly fly the Federal flag and not their State flag. This is the United STATES of the continent of America. Flying the American flag is fine its just a little weird. Like a French citizen flying the E.U. flag. The U.S. is essentially a collection of nation states. A loosely bounded coalition of sovereign governments that are committed to an allied defense pact. Your allegiance should radiate from within to without not the opposite. First, family. Second, town or Parish. Third, your State. A distance fourth, the U.S.
Even more strange is that Louisianians are so patriotic. If there is any State that one would assume to be the least enthusiastic about the Federal government it should be Louisianians. This State has been Indian, French, Spanish, Independent(parts, West Florida Republic), Confederate and U.S.
All that said there is no doubt the U.S. is the best "country" in the world but it earned that title because of the power that the Constitution grants the People and the STATES not a centralized government(Federal/U.S.).

We fly an American flag year round on the front porch. If I find an Auburn flag I like, I will get it and fly it on game days under the American flag.
