yes, I feel remorse. But not to the point that it affects me. I'll try to avoid any object in the road, but I aint wrecking or causing one to avoid it.

I pulled into my driveway a year ago and heard a loud POP. Thinking I ran over a full soda can - sounded just like it - I got out to clean up the mess after parking. Found an exploded rabbit all over my driveway. Still feel bad a year later.

Winding road. Window rolled down. Beer in the truck. Sounds like a country song. Beer was unopened BTW, headed to a party.

This large dog German Shepherd sized bolts out of woods at night. I can either hit the dog or roll my truck 15 times and die. All I had time to do was let off the gas. Again, my windows are down at night on a country road. I heard the impact and heard that poor thing howl until I drove too far to hear it anymore.

It was awful.

I had no choice but to run over a cat that ran out in Highway 90 rush hour traffic in Gulfport once. I mean I hoped I missed but I didn't. Some baws behind me tried to fight me at the next light. I tried explaining I thought it was preferable to keep driving rather than slam on the breaks and cause a pile up in 50 mph traffic.

I’ll damn near run off the road to avoid hitting a raccoon, opossum, etc.

Years ago I saw a car hit a beagle and kind of suck it into the wheel well. The scream this dog made was horrifying, and it was a sound you would never imagine coming from any type of animal.

I like animals more than I like most people, so I’ll avoid hitting one at any cost.

squirrel by tire, no
dove in the grille, no
raccoon, not really, but they make a mess
armadillo, avoid at all costs, they can F up a grille or headlight.
Deer, see above
possum, see raccoon above

obviously someone's pet dog or cat? yeah, I get upset. I try to avoid it, but Im not going into a ditch or center a tree to miss someone's idiot animal that got out.

Lived in a small town growing up. Not much between between the girlfriends house and mine except cane fields. Hit an owl flying out of one of the cane fields one night on my way home. Pretty sure I had a heart attack when it struck the car. Definitely had a broken windshield.

Not if it's a clean head shot and the meat is not ruined.

Not guilty if it wasn't on purpose. Sad, if it's a pet.

And then you look in your rear view and see it flopping on the road?

I do. If I killed it, that's one thing. But if it's flopping, I feel bad and hope someone else puts it out of it's misery.

Jesus. How many times have you done this?
