Do you feel guilty after running over an animal,

And then you look in your rear view and see it flopping on the road?
I do. If I killed it, that's one thing. But if it's flopping, I feel bad and hope someone else puts it out of it's misery.
Let's hear your road kill stories

1) I don’t look back.
2) not my fault it kamakazi’d under my car.

I feel a little bad.
Not guilty. But just feel bad for it’s suffering.
I never try to avoid them unless there are no cars ANYWHERE on the road. It’s too dangerous to make a quick maneuver.
But once, the car in front of me (a 2011 blue dodge caravan with two new car seats) hit a rabbit and its rear legs were flopping around with its chest stuck on the road. I intentionally drove over it to end its suffering quickly.

No more so than the deer that totaled out my truck by running in front of me while I was doing 73 mph.

Only the ones with collars.

A little. So if it’s flopping around a circle back and hit it again. Act of mercy.

I hit a pigeon on the Expressway going to work one morning... It was like someone cut open a pillow... Funniest shite ever...
Saw someone else hit an armadillo one day, I swear that thing flopped so hard it got about 4 feet of air...

I usually go back and get them for dinner

When I was 16, I hit a squirrel in my neighborhood. It was wriggling all around, so I figured I'd go around the neighborhood, and put him out of his misery. I ended up hitting another squirrel in the process
When I was 18, I ran over a dog in the country. Its back was broken, but it was still alive. No collar and not around any houses. After petting it for maybe 20 seconds, I shot him in the head. It was the humane thing to do

Whoever doesn't feel a little bit of guilt when running over an animal ought to have their head examined.
I'm not saying you have to cry all day about it, but jeez, you just may have taken out a momma bringing food to its young.

I do! The sound, the bump, then me imagining watching it from the outside and again from the animals perspective (probably worse than reality but still) just makes my stomach go in a knot even if there wasn't anything I could do to miss it. Even worse if it was a pet. I hit a deer once that destroyed my car and I was probably more upset about the deer than my car for the first few minutes.

Most definitely. Luckily it's only happened once. I hit a cat, which I typically don't care for, but even I felt a sense of sadness and compassion for it. I'm getting soft

I ran over a buzzard and heard it tumble underneath my car, and when I looked back it took off flying.
Had a groundhog run on to the road and stood up and looked at me. Off with it's head with my front bumper...

It kinda did, but it's what needed to happen.
My dad also hit a skunk once on the way to get me from jail. He was not a happy camper

Uhh well yeah. I feel especially bad if it's a dog or cat and is likely a pet.
People need to contain their animals for a reason.

But if I ever kill a dog I’ll probably cry for weeks.

Maybe a bald eagle but not a squirrel.
