He talks it about like it's an actual group like the 1%. I can't Google the 2%

We all want to feel like we're part of a group. Have I talked to you about the top 3% of household income earners?

there's being a douche about your life and earnings and then there's being proud about overcoming adversity and creating a better life for your family

No, I don't think it makes me better than others. However, having money makes life much easier than it would be if you didn't have money.

I believe it gives the "potential" to make life easier. It can certainly be a deterrent for some as well, but by Vegas odds yes, it is easier.

I grew up lower middle class in south La. We would be considered 1% by Nashville, TN standards. We still have life's ups and downs, just money isn't in the fold.

How do you like Franklin? I live near Sylvan park and have been trying to convince the SO we should look into moving out that way since we don't utilize downtown and whatnot as much anymore

anyways, I grew up poor as shite, with a drug addicted mother

i'm 28 and in the top 5%, according to my link earlier, and can certainly attest to life being much easier when you don't have to worry about things like food and paying your bills

avoiding lifestyle inflation is obviously key. I have a mentor for my job who clears over a million a year and you would never know it. nice car, but used and over 100k miles. Everything is paid off, including 22 rental homes. He can quite literally do anything he wants because he avoided lifestyle inflation as his income increased. He's lived in the same house since he was a newlywed some 20 years ago.

You have been watching way too much TV sensationalizing these 'trust-fund babies' or you have no idea how a trust works.

It is not a pot of gold, you can specify in detail how the funds from the trust will be dispensed for example: 'designed to pay educational expenses and then distribute any additional principal following graduation as start-up money to establishing a life.'

In my biased opinion it's all it's cracked up to be. I live on west side of 65 off Sneed in Temple Hills. It's almost same distance to Green Hills as it is to downtown Franklin.

The big sell here is schools and taxes, topography being the top 3 in my opinion. Most of my friends from back home give me shite but before they leave always tell me they wish they could live here as well ??

I knew this thread would be a hit. When you speak your mind truthfully without being politically correct it really grabs people's attention. #blessed

Not to quibble, but wouldn't it be more around $340K? And if that does indeed put someone at around the 2% household income mark, and he's 42, I'd say that's not doing too badly.

We can't all be impressive hedge fund shitlords like you.

So you're about as close to Bellevue as you are downtown Franklin? Love that area. I'm in Sylvan Park.

Williamson Co schools are consistently in the top rankings in the country. It's about the only place I can think of off the top of my head where you can get the equivalent of a private school education at a public school.

If it were up to me, I'd live off of Granny White/Old Hickory. Close enough to the city, close enough to downtown Franklin, and you are able to still have you're on piece of land. It's just expensive, obviously. The topography is a major appeal as well.
