But why?

Do you enjoy making extra trips to the gas station?

No, that seems pointless.

If I have to get gas, I’ll only pump enough to get me to the weekend when my SO can fill it up.

No, in fact I follow the Kige Ramsey advice on how to save on fillups by not letting my fuel tank get below half before filling up. The savings are amazing!!!

Most of the time when I’m in my truck that I don’t drive that often. I’ll put $20-$25 in it and drive on that for a few months.

Always fill up my commuter car because I drive it daily.

It’s not something I regularly do and don’t like it. The SO fills it up for me when he’s home.

when I go to the store in the early morning for coffee, I sometimes see this. If it’s some dude wearing his faded, wore out FR trying to get to work in his beat up ‘90 Mazda 323, I’ll throw a 10 spot their way. I don’t even bat an eye their way if they’re buying a pack of cigarettes and then counting the leftover change for a gas. Priorities brother

Good way to saturate your EVAP canister.

Only if the pump cuts it off at a dollar amount before the tank's full.

Hasn't happened to me since gas was really expensive a few years ago, but went to a couple stations that used to stop the pump at $75 regardless.

I usually don't put more than 5 gallons in my "weekend car" unless I plan to drive more than 100 miles that day. I usually only drive it maybe 200 miles a month and I don't like gas sitting in it.

I’ll have gas spilling all over the concrete just to hit an even dollar amount

Only when being in a hurry comes into play.

I lack patience for certain things. Have you ever been on a pump going really slow? I'm talking about getting to $10 worth when it should be filled. I can't wait for that.

Or when I was really poor, and just figured how much I needed per week and go with that. No need to fill up when I wasn't using all of that until later

I allot myself $45 a paycheck for gas.
So I get one fill up and another refuel to get by until next paycheck.
