This is my only recurring nightmare, and it's been a while since I've had it.

More than a decade after graduating, my dream consists of me repeatedly blowing off a class until I come to the realization I'm at a point of no return and can't drop the class. Then the accumulated anxiety wakes me up. The fear of consequence is real.

I also wonder if I am eligible to play sports again.

I have this dream less frequently, but I have had a dream 4-5 times where I find out I still have eligibility left for high school and go back and play and I forget my travel bag (has my pads, helmet, cleats, etc...) at the school and I let everyone down lmao

You mean where it's almost the end of the semester and you realize there's a class you forgot to attend the whole time?

This is the one. Been a while since I had it.

This is some form of the one I had in grade school where I forgot to put on clothes.

Lately, it's some form of separation from my family, and being unable to get back to them.

Had a few where I was on structures of incredible height, and had to get down. Maybe it was a bridge, maybe it was a skyscraper. Those were the worst.

Holy shite yes. About twice a month.

My dreams are that I’ve forgotten to drop a class and it’s past the deadline and I’m about to fail or I’ve been skipping a class and I show up and they start handing out tests and I’m completely unprepared.

It’s always a huge relief when I wake up but no joke I have those nightmares around 2 maybe 3 times a month. I’ve been out of college since 2013.

ETA: since so many people have these same dreams is there an OT psychologist that can tell us the cause of this?

Yeah, still do. It’s usually about not being aware of a class at all on my schedule and then having to take the Final to save myself.

I have this dream a couple of times a year. Freaks me out every time.

Another terrible repeat dream I have involves me trying to explain something to someone and my teeth begin to crumble and I can’t talk because I have to keep spitting out crumbled teeth. I wake up sweating every time

I'm not a DR but:

missing class dreams

Even said some show up in pajamas or nude--I don't recall that ever being combined with my "missing class" dreams but I definitely had it in grade school.

Weird how the brain works, and how common this dream is.

My nightmare for years was showing up on campus and learning I never officially dropped a class, and there is a final exam today...

This never happened to me IRL, so why I would have nightmares about it I don't know. Actually haven't had this dream for a few years... But now I'm sure it will plague me.

I graduated more than long enough ago for these types of dreams to stop, but not only are they not stopping, they are getting more frequent

I've graduated more than 20 years ago and I still have dreams that I didn't complete a graduation requirement and the school is going to call and tell me I need to complete the requirements or return my degree.

Very similar but they still occur.

Usually in the form of: there was some course that I was supposed to drop / never attended... but now that the semester is almost over (maybe even already over) I'm in a panic because I can't remember officially dropping it and now it's "too late" to drop the course.

I’m 52 years old and still have dreams of forgetting to go to class, or forgetting to take a final.

They almost always take the form of be blowing off a class the entire semester and then taking the exam with zero idea how to do any of the work.

I also get dreams about outright forgetting to take a required class and a rep for the college comes to my house and confiscates my diploma.

A quick google search shows this is pretty common, just curious if you guys and gals of the OT get these dreams as well.

At least once a month I have one of these types of dreams, usually involving work.

I either can't make it to something on time, which usually involves running in slow motion, stuck in traffic, missed a flight, etc.. Or, not being prepared for something and making an arse of myself in front of a large group.

I either overprepare for everything because of these types of dreams, or I have these dreams because I anxiously overprepare for everything.

I knew that showing up and learning there is a test is common. But I didn't know until this thread that the class drop variation is common as well.

have had a weird dream where I go back to high school to get my diploma after I already graduated from college, like a Billy Madison 2 kinda scenario.

I’ve had the one in the OP and this one as well. I’m currently a teacher, and sometimes I dream that I am teaching afternoon classes after attended morning classes as a students

Usually my dreams become lucid and I realize how crazy it all is. Then I try to have some fun.
