When you hear that someone who worked for a company was a whistle blower do you think of it as a good thing or a bad thing?

Ed Snowden is considered a whistle blower. If you ask the average American what they know about Ed Snowden, they probably know that he worked for the government (I know he worked for a government contractor), is considered a whistle blower and isn't allowed to come back to the US without being arrested. Because he is wanted by the government there are people who probably automatically think him being a whistle blower is bad..

If someone who works for a company decides to become a whistle blower because they know their company doing some illegal shite, they have to be prepared for the backlash. In some cases they are putting themselves at risk.

So when you hear someone is a whistle blower do you view that person in a negative or positive way? Or does it depend on the situation?

And if you were in position to be a whistle blower would you do it?

In theory they are heroes. In practice about 90% of them are wannabe heroes.

Generally I think whistle blower is just another term for snitch.

Start a go fund me and if you collect $15k and give to me I will permaban myself. I will ask Chicken to permaban my account.. And no I will not come back as an alter. While it used to be funny 10-12 years ago, nI have no interest in having to try to establish myself as a "legit" poster, etc, etc..

Saying something derogatory about a certain group doesn't make you a whistleblower.

I always think of it negatively. I had a high school friend I saw recently who proclaimed to me he had been a "whistle blower" and gotten some big reward for it. Pretty scummy way to make some easy money.
