Without your mouth being numbed?

They did scaling and root planing on me last year. Had to go in twice, once for right side and then for left side. Numbed the hell out of my mouth each time(the needles to numb fricking hurt cause they are sometimes sticking the needle right into the roof of your mouth).

I get cleanings 4 times a year. I've never paid out of pocket for them. My dental insurance somehow covers it (even though the plan says it covers 2 cleanings a year)

My company must provide the worst dental insurance on Earth. We have to pay around $30 for cleanings.

LouisianaLady: "..my first visit in several years.."
lsunurse: "...9 years I smoked in my 20s..."

Surprised I didn't see the obligatory "women are nasty" comment.

What I really hate is when the hygentis or dentist start making small talk while they're working on your teeth.

You've got that damn suction thing in your mouth, and sometime gauze, and they are asking about your vacation or some shite like that.

Shut up and do your job...me being there is probably paying for your vacation !

Yep. Try to use it as a psuedo meditation time, just getting lost in thoughts. Don't think about all of the sharp objects and power tools

Speaking of, I have a cleaning coming up Tuesday

my dentist used to have one of those, she wouldn't shut up, would go on political/social tirades, and constantly try to push dental hygiene products on you, and would ask you questions while she's working on you, I told my wife after one cleaning that I wasn't going back, she told the dentist when she was in her office(dentist was asking if I was on the schedule for a check up,) the dentist actually called me to talk about it, I guess the girl was racking up complaints because she was gone shortly after that

My dentist has a tv mounted to the ceiling with Netflix. They ask you what you want to watch beforehand.

I had to stop watching The Office because I would start laughing during
