Most of those kids grow out of that phase. About one out of every 4 people murdered in BR seem to be aspiring rappers or actual rappers.

It teaches a bunch of easily impressionable kids that they can live a certain lifestyle without working or school. In reality most end up in prison or dead though. But we'll have those that praise it on here.

The vast majority of it that is popular has a terrible message. People can point to this rapper or that rapper as exceptions, but that's what they are. Exceptions.

I will grant you that one issue with today's radio-friendly rap is that it's mostly immature 17-21yo kids spouting off about their experiences and how hard they are.

Thing is, there is a shite ton of rappers who rap about violent, awful things buy express remorse and regret for those circumstances and the problems associated with glorifying those behaviors within the black community.

I think a lot of this boils down to what you think of when you hear the word "rap". If the first artist to cross your mind is Chief Keef, a complete frick up of a person who has zero fricks to give, yes, he's doing no favors to kids who listen to his music. If the first artist is someone like Chance the Rapper, Kendrick Lamar, or Future, well, you would have a completely different take on rap music.

Ride through the hood and see who is blaring out the windows of the Chrysler 300's and get back to me.

I didn't read all 10 pages so this may have been mentioned already. We rightly demonize rap for its lyrics that glorify drugs, murder, womanizing etc. but we conveniently ignore it in country music. A few songs that come to mind are "Two Black Caddilacs," "Papa Loved Mama," "Gunpowder and Lead" etc. There are many others with rather sinister undertones that simply get glossed over. Now I understand there is a massive disparity between the amount of these types of songs in each genre but it doesn't change the fact that examples do exist and they largely are ignored.

I also dislike the songs you listed and think hickhop is equally lazy and trashy.

If you can't see the difference between a song that is vaguely about drugs as opposed to a song that has every verse about drugs, guns, and sex, you are the troll.

The melody line is very clever. If that's a sample, which it probably is, then it's a relatively simple arrangement. If that is a recorded vocal line, it took a lot of work. Overall that's very bare song.

Here's a better example of what I'm talking about. LINK
This is Mannie Fresh talking about how he made the beat to "Back that Azz Up" and it goes into some stuff I talked about.

I got a 1430 on my SAT, sorry we don’t have the same musical preferences. Calling all teenagers retards seems a little absurd. frick you.

Did you just lump in Future in the same sentence with Kendrick and Chance. I was with you all the way up until that. That really kinda diluted your point.

One of the problems is hardly anyone is making good rock music in 2019.
