When it comes to money management fundamentals you can learn a lot from rap culture.

Second, rap music glorifies deviant behavior like violence, pimping, prostitution, drug use, and disrespect of women.
Not much different than country music back in the day. And I love the shite out of that.

African culture is a subset of American culture. It is neither positive or negative. Just is.

I can't see need for many words.... i listen to some of it.
It has no positive influence. It inspires me to nothing positive and only brings to mind negative thoughts...

Rap is pure dogshit that requires absolute zero musical talent to make and complete lack of musical taste to even tolerate, much less enjoy.

You do realize that any “artist” that signs a record deal is corporate, right?

It's not simple at all. It takes a lot of hard work,
not buyong this at all. Just put it on Sirius and heard Tyga-Taste and Mustard/Migos-Pure Water and Lil Baby-Close Friends...plain, boring, cliched, lacking in creativity, same shite I've always heard. The beat is generic as can be. Your post makes it sound expensive but not requiring much talent.

Total benefit. Rap gives millions of young men something to aspire to.

Did three quarters of the songs talk about killing people and shoving your dick in a bitch while selling drugs? I know Johnny Cash shot a man to watch him die in one song but I can't recall Lefty Frizzell, Ernest Tubbs and Ray Price crooning about the time they nutted on a bitch assed ho and kept it real by killing cops.

Mods should merge with T-ball thread. Ball is high and inside in both.

No music has been more demeaning to young women than Hip Hop. Even hair music in the 80's wasn't no where near on that level.

I don't hate all rap. I listened to a lot of it in the early/mid 90's but it's hard to argue that it's been a net positive.

As a grown man I like some rap but can keep it in perspective;as a mentor to a 13 y/o in north BR, it definitely adversely affects his life in regards to impulsivity around his peers and his priorities/goals moving forward.

There should be a "baw" icon in everyone's signatures so that when subjects like this come up we don't have to weed through 50 rednecks spouting off racist nonsense to have a conversation with people who don't have default positions against anything involving the "cultcha".

Can I design my own?

Do tell about all of the positives modern rap contributes to society. Particularly in lower income minority communities

If that's what you got out of this, you have some major personal issues...

Don't like rap = Racist to the new Democrats...

I'm so conflicted because I like old school soul...

Where does that put me on your new racist scale?

You're such a disingenuous person. You know goddamn well that wasn't my point. Did you just skip over every post that agreed with you that rap sucks? Black people are apparently so dumb and misguided that they turn to a rapper as father figures? You don't sense the racism in that take?

GFY.
