Do you believe in "if it's meant to be, it will happen"?

I don't. Just wondering if anyone believes it.

Of course not. That's just silliness.

Depends on what is "meant to be."

No but I do believe sometimes seemingly unfortunate happenings work out for the best

Kinda, yes. Depending on how it’s implied.
Are you meant to get a promotion? Do you have the natural skill and have displayed the work effort and qualities? Then yes, you will get it as is meant to happen in scenarios where people go above and beyond their current jobs

There's predictable cause and effect, there's intentionality, there's action and inaction, and there's created meaning. But I don't believe there's any cosmic plan out there guiding life.

No. I believe I was put in a position and given the opportunity to make it happen.

In a way. You still have to make it happen to an extent. I do believe in:
“Tell God your plan if you want to hear him laugh”

I am a big believer that intentional actions are way more prevalent than coincidence and people chalk things up to coincidence more often than it actually occurs.
If you want something to happen that is in your control, you make it happen. Don't just say "Jesus take the wheel" and expect Jesus to pick the winning lottery numbers for you, or accomplish whatever it is you want to accomplish.

That’s some shite that girls say when things aren’t going their way or I say to girls when it’s over, lol.

Professionally speaking, I think that success is the intersection of preparation and opportunity.
Personally, I think it’s having a positive attitude knowing that you can make lemonade out of lemons.

It requires human actions, but I do believe in equilibrium. That doesnt mean something is predestined.

Positive people make the best of situations, so for those people it seems like it was meant to be.
Get the promotion? It was meant to be.
Don't get the promotion? If you are positive and work hard, your life is still good and you may get a promotion later so it seems like it was "meant to be"

Everything that happens is meant to happen.
No matter if you're a materialistic atheist** in the "big show" sense as described by CS Lewis, or a committed Christian, you should embrace this philosophy.
**I describe materialistic atheists as those who believe in nothing beyond the natural world. We are all composed of matter and that's all we will ever be. Molecules.

"Meant to be" is simply acting on intuition. Our educational systems hate intuition, they teach it out of you.

Severely frowned upon in modern corporations. If you make a decision without supporting data, you will not be making decisions for long even if they are correct.

No, I do not believe my life is pre determined and I have zero control
