re: Do you believe in ghosts?

It's my commuter car. It's a 2009 and has 20K miles on it.

I never believed in them until I had my own experience, and then my son had an experience too.

My incident(s)- 11 years ago we moved into this house. It is an old house, and the previous inhabitants lived here 53 years until the wife died IN THE HOUSE, and the husband had dementia so he moved in with his daughter and we bought the place. It is pretty rural here, no neighbors very close, house set back from road. Little things at first---I'd be home alone and upstairs on the computer, go downstairs to find the china cabinet doors standing wide open. These doors LATCH and cannot just come open, and I had not been in the cabinet for months so I didn't leave it unlatched. I would hear footsteps downstairs and the instantly as I heard it, the dog would jump up and run downstairs thinking husband or sons were home, but nobody there. This happened ALL THE TIME...also came downstairs to find the pocket doors into one room closed, and we never close them. Then, the tv in the guest room started coming on at the same time every night, but the tv had no timer on it...

Finally I was convinced that Helen, the previous owner was still here. A friend told me what to do---and I felt RIDICULOUS doing it---I stood in the upstairs hall and said out loud "Helen, I know you loved this house for 53 years but I'm taking good care of it for you and you're scaring me and I'd like you to leave please." Honest to God, I never had another single incident.

That was mine...my son's was scarier. I'll come back in a few minutes and share.

A portal to hell?

my son's experience:

Son is now 27, To this day he gets the heebie jeebies thinking about this event in his life.

When he was 13 he was on a property we owned but did not live on. My husband was renovating the place for resale...a flip. It was an old house and big barn on 7 acres, and adjoined by about 50 acres of vacant land which once belonged to the property we owned. The original owners had the farm in their family for many years and sold off the 50 acres to a developer who planned to build a cul de sac of million dollar homes. At the time of this event, no construction had begun and it was just open field.

Our son was riding his brand new quad that summer day. He was under strict orders to stay on our property, but he didn't obey that day, and rode into the adjoining field. Just after he drove onto the field, the quad stalled. Son, who was very mechanically inclined, got off the quad, looked at things and couldn't find any reason why it would've just stalled out like that. When he looked up after examining things, he saw, in the middle of the field, an old man standing there staring at him. The old man had long white hair and beard, was wearing overalls and a white shirt under the overalls, and was holding a pitchfork. There was NOTHING around--no buildings, no homes, no businesses where a person could've come from. Our son said he just immediately got a creeped out feeling, jumped on the quad, started it, looked back and the figure was gone.

My husband confirms that our son came racing back to where he (husband) was in our barn and that our son was as white as a sheet and shaking. Son confessed he had gone onto the other property and told my husband what he saw and was totally freaked out.

Fast forward about six years...we had long ago sold the property. The cul de sac of million dollar homes had been built. One night out of the blue, I got a phone call one night from a woman who was a producer of ghost hunting show that was trying to get off the ground and she was trying to track down the ORIGINAL owner of that farm property and since we had bought the place from her, wondered if we knew how to locate her...my husband wasnt' home so I talked to this woman and told her I didn't know but could ask my husband. I then asked her why she was trying to find the owner. This woman told me she was trying to find out about past inhabitants of the property because one of the owners of the new million dollar homes was having "experiences"...i asked her if she could elaborate and she said that the first thing that happened was the man (owner of the newly constructed house) woke up one night to find a man standing by his bed...a man in overalls with long white hair and beard holding a pitchfork!!! And they had also seen two children, a boy and girl.

I immediately called my son who was in the military at this point. He said, "I told you!! I told you, i wasn't lying. I SAW that man! " We always believed him, as he was so distraught, but never really knew what to make of it.

My husband called and spoke to the woman and told her about our son...but we never heard from her again and haven't heard any more about the property. I'm very curious though!!

yes, I was told by those who "know" and believe that she was probably 'stuck' and needed to be told to leave. Sounded weird to me but it worked.
Honestly, I had NO qualms at all about the woman dying in the house. None. I didn't believe in ghosts and it took a long time of things happening to convince me.
