I too believe there is a holy lord for which we will answer to. Faith is a big part of my life during the good and bad.

The one issue I've always had with Christianity is plainly this - it's the Christian way, or the highway (to hell).

In a world where 4 billion people are not born unto the Christian faith, does that mean all are to succumb to a fiery death? What about Buddhists, Jews, or those of the non-radical Islamic faith? From what I loosely understand, virtually all of the "rules" of the bible in terms of human behavior align. It's when process and after-life rituals come into play are there issues.

I love my relationship with the lord, but I do ponder those questions. I also respect that, much like astrophysics, I may not be able to comprehend a complete answer until my time on earth has finished.

In death our souls return to our alien overlords.

Define afterlife. As in all the good people get to party and live in a field with sheep walking around? No. As in human atoms break apart then reform into another piece of matter and repeat the cycle set by the universe? Sure. One of those two things will happen. We only have actual proof of one, though.

This is but a stage. A stepping stone to the next adventure. You don't remember your time in the womb, but you were there. Then, bam, you were here. Then, it's on to the next stage where hopefully there will be no carjacking, no rage, no hate, free speech and free beer.

I'm glad you see outside the bubble enough to question something, even if it's just the one thing.

Lucky for you, you were born into the right religion, am I right?

I don't have a belief there is NOT an afterlife, gods, ghosts, ufo's, etc as some people variously claim, but I have yet to see/hear/experience evidence credible enough to lead me to the conclusion there is a high probability any of those things exist (except in people's individual minds)

Do you believe in a beforelife? Isn’t this as logical as an afterlife?

This seems like a good place to drop my near death coma experience:

After nearly dying on an operating table I spent a few weeks in a coma. At some point I found myself inside sort of an F-14 jet fighter glass canopy (for lack of a better description), strapped to some sort of console. Outside of the canopy I could see that I was inside a giant sphere filled with glass canopies just like mine lining the interior 'wall' of the entire sphere. It was a vast space but I could see all the way across to the other side so it was probably a couple miles in diameter.

From all around me I could hear the sound of everyone "humming". It's hard to describe but it was musical and everyone's voice was synchronized and it was the most beautiful sound I'd ever heard. All I wanted to do was join in and 'hum' along with everyone else but I couldn't make a sound.

After minutes or seconds or hours, IDK, the canopy went black and I was alone. The sequence ended right after that.

My brain was probably doing tricky shite but I can't shake that memory and it's made me far more receptive to alternative theories like simulations and aliens.

i think you just cease to exist. Why do people worry about it? What's wrong with not existing? It sounds pretty pleasant to me. The same as sleep but without any nasty dreams or having to get up to go to the bathroom. Just nothing. Hey, that's actually a heaven. Eternal peace.

I'm not choosing anything. Belief in gods doesn't register in my brain. I can't help it. I don't like artichoke hearts. i wish i did because then i could eat dishes that had them without looking stupid picking them out. I didn't choose to not like artichoke hearts.
Also, i'm not choosing the world's evil either. i go to work. eat. sleep. read a bit, watch a bit of TV, maybe catch a nap. Normal rat wheel stuff. It doesn't seem evil to me. Well, coming on OT is probably evil.

Except you wake up from sleeping. And your brain is still functioning even if you're not conscious. That's a pretty presumptuous claim.

How can you be cognizant of being at peace if you don't exist to experience it?

Tell us more about your experience and knowledge of non-existence. You seem to know a lot about it.

I went down a You Tube rabbit hole, one day, of people with near death experiences, pretty interesting stuff if you have time on your hands..

Crazy how many of them had very similar experiences.
