A neighbor used to talk about her grandson never being a part of the family and never wanting to be a typical grandson. Twenty years later, he's proclaimed different, but unsure as what.
In the French Quarter we rented to a female who was passing as a really homely female. Who we learned wasn't female when her Dr. at Charity Hospital tried to contact him as a him.

I feel sorry for them.
I think some of them must have had a difficult life growing up. An emotional or psychological problem has to be behind whatever causes that, and it probably sucks to have to live with.
Although there are worse problems to have I suppose.

None, but earlier my buddy shows me of some girl on bumble. Of course I said she was cute. It was a dude. They are getting convincing.

One I know definitely had a really difficult life and had some depression issues and whatnot, made the gender change and for her it seems to have been the right move. She’s happy so that’s really all that matters.

No, but if you want to get a mangina, far be it from me to stand in your way.

Yeah, I know one. He is now a she. The announcement was shocking when he decided to change, but once the novelty wore off it was pretty insignificant. We all just moved forward with business as usual.

They are about 0.5% of the population but with the way they are in the news you'd think it was 20%.
I live in Houston, and the Houston metro area has more than 6 million people. That means 0.5% of the Houston population would be nearly 32,000 people.
There is no way there are 32,000 transgender people in and around the city. I'd be running into these motherfrickers everywhere if that were the case. Or at least know of someone who was transgender.

Well I was counting people who have a transgender mind as well, not just the ones who went through the procedures.
Who knows anyway?

Fwiw, the estimated are based on the adult population, not total population.
From a national survey that pegged the number nationwide at .6%.

In some states the results at first glance seemed surprising. In New York, for example, the percentage was 0.51; in Texas it was 0.66.
“From prior research, we know that trans people are more likely to be from racial and ethnic minorities, particularly from Latino backgrounds,” Jody L. Herman, a scholar of public policy at the institute, said. “And they are also younger.”

This kid didn't cross dress until late teens.

I’m a doctor and a couple of female nurses are now males (I didn’t know them before). They are both like 5’2” with sad little beards. When I walk in, I say “hey bro” to each and I know it makes them happy. I think it’s weird as hell, but whatever floats their boats. Just don’t want the government to force me to address them as they demand to be addressed.

I have a coworker who is now a gay male but was born a female. Even the gays I work with don’t understand it. I work with cool gays though.

I hired one as a receptionist. He was mild and meek and she was wild and outgoing. Two different personalities fit like he was dressed or not dressed that day.
He had a nighttime gig playing a Princess and was hired away and moved overseas. I would hire again because he/she did their job. Pleasant exp although odd but broke down some barriers for me in how I viewed people

Heard a guy that went to my high school at least cross dresses full time now. He was flaming in high school though. Nice guy, but obviously gay.
I work in O&G and there are women you come across who are butch as can be. Short hair, strap back any tits they have with a sports bra, constantly wear flannel and mens pants. But that's not really trans as they still go by a girl name and haven't gone that next step.

my friends Uncle Andy is now Aunt Amanda. We give her shite and call her a man, duhh. She still comes fishing and shite with us. Just kind of awkward bringing her around in north Mississippi.

Coworkers, family members? Gotta be somebody here with personal knowledge. AFAIK I've never seen one in the wild.
I've never seen him since HS but a guy I graduated with is "transitioning", according to FB. Looks absolutely nothing like a female. Dude has a permanent 5 o'clock shadow, adam's apple, etc.
