I did it once for a friend who was running for office. Not letting anyone else do that unless they're paying me though, I have a big yard on a busy street, it's worth money to advertise on it

Only if I'm a particular supporter of the candidate. On the other hand, I have a lot with great visibility - so occasionally, folks will post one on my corner (or on public property, which is a no-no) - and, for example, I removed a sign for Clyde Holloway that was placed without my permission.

I stopped this many years ago. I've given to a couple friends a few "sympathy" dollars since they all seem to get their arse handed to them in a hat but that's it.
And signs aren't allowed where I live.
