Do you save/reuse tin foil?

My relatives were acting like it's made of gold when I went for the Reynolds wrap box to cover leftovers following Thanksgiving dinner. They insisted on reusing foil from their "collection." I think one piece had remnants of potato salad from July 4th.

The one where the trailers all have tin foil covering the windows.

man, that is some damn funny shite....sounds like something my relatives would do. one made me wash out a used Ziplock bag a while back.

Tell them that shite is the most abundant element in the Earth's crust. I never heard of such a thing.

just curious....how old are they or are they immigrants? my grandparents and a few great uncles and aunts all lived through the depression. they all would wash out and reuse ziplocks or chip bags. they were meticulous about not letting things go to waste because i guess they remembered not having shite

The oldest there is in her 80s. Maybe she heard stories about the Depression. What amazes me is these same relatives think nothing of spending large amounts on lottery tickets, gambling at the casinos and truck stops, and cigarettes.

No. Never. That’s disgusting.
You can get a mile of the stuff at Costco for like ten bucks.
The things some people choose to be frugal on is just absurd.

I save it for the impending Apocalypse...
Otherwise the Illuminati could read our minds.

Damn. They’re definitely in a trailer.

My 83 year old father re-uses foil. Says he'll be able to leave more money to my brother and I.

Damn, how much foil do some people use that they save a substantial sum of money by reusing it? I buy a 200 feet roll every six months. It's like $10 a year.

People that age also lived through times when they had shortages of metals, rubber, glass, and anything used to make planes, tanks, ships, and bullets during WWII.

I agree. The cheap stuff will tear off wrong, and cause you to waste lots of it. Buying Reynolds is like buying Charmin.

I'm guilty if it is spot free. I'll also save ziploc bags that I use to ice my knees and reuse.
