Is there any way to tell if you have one of these citations before they hit the mail. Think I got one the other day, and just want to pay and get it over with.

I fricking hate traffic cameras. fricking hate them. When the day comes that these assaults on our individual liberties are torn down, I will watch with glee as they are removed and melted down into more useful implements like rebar or barbells.
This guy successfully fought a camera ticket he received. Of course, he didn't have to deal with the kangaroo court retardedness we have to deal with in Orleans Parish.

Traffic-camera laws seem like such minor, insignificant intrusions on liberty that few grasp their constitutional significance. But they reflect a profoundly mistaken view of American constitutionalism. One might say that the traffic camera is a sign of our times. Its widespread use and acceptance reveals how far we have drifted from our fundamental commitment to self-government. When our governing officials dismiss due process as mere semantics, when they exercise powers they don’t have and ignore duties they actually bear, and when we let them get away with it, we have ceased to be our own rulers.

I could have sworn I heard awhile back that they were getting rid of the cameras in orleans and were going to refund something like 32mil. I had to pay $240 for going 45 in a 20 school zone at 4:45 when no other cars were around... was some serious bullshite because it was not even remotely obvious that a school zone was nearby. Been waiting on that refund but sounds like thats never coming.

i got one in a rental car ... what's the deal there?

It seems every year or less, N.O. puts in more and more of those damn things. There seems to be no major intersection in the city that doesn't have some type of camera to issue citations.
And the thing that gets you tickets like right turn on red without coming to a complete stop is BS. If you roll up on a red light and can see a block down the intersection with no traffic coming and slow to a crawl before proceeding, a cop will not issue you a ticket, but that damn camera will.
Nothing more than a money grab by the city.

I fell victim to the boot as well over jazz fest. Apparently, for some unpaid parking tickets circa 2014. It’s real folks, they will get you. Pay those parking and camera tickets.
Just one more reason among a myriad of others not to visit N.O.

Modern license plates are point and scan. They bring in more in fines than the minimum wage they pay someone to walk around scanning.

I got one way back in 2010 in Lakeview. Found out it was civil and not judicial and decided I wasn't paying that. I figured they couldn't prove who was driving vehicle so frick that noise. The car I was driving at the time was out of state and so out of mind.
Anyone remember when someone kept putting a trash can over the camera on Canal Boulevard by Harrison?

They can’t hit parking lots or businesses with parking spaces. I’ve been working in Nola for years with a work vehicle and they can’t touch me if I’m in a lot.

I just drove a rental from Philadelphia back to Nola. Going down I-81 through Shannondah Valley there were signs that said “aircraft enforced tickets”. I was going 90+ most of the way, I hope I don’t get a bill from Enterprise.

Dude Nola barely enforces murder laws let alone traffic cam tickets

Posted on 6/15/18 at 6:18 pm to DirtyMikeandtheBoys
Booting cars is the number 1 priority in the city. Preventing murders is around 21 or 22 followed by jaywalking and public urination.

Yeah that makes sense. I reverse my statement.
