saw them booting cars last weekend. That's how they get their monies. Scan plate, boot it, then tow it. Now you go to pay your tickets +extra to get your vehicle back. It's a fricking racket.

Some guy in Baton Rouge owes something like $25,000 in unpaid traffic tickets.

PSA: Yes.

I was on the no-pay plan and then got a fricking boot over Jazzfest because I hadn't paid them. Had to pay $726.00 to get it off.

Excuse my ignorance. So in New Orleans, cops go around to random parking lots and enter plates in the system, and it takes that to get a hit to boot somebody? What exactly is scanning plates?

cops dont do shite, its usually a fat black lady in some white ptcruiser looking vehicle.

they can just scan your plate or vin and see what tickets you have. Some people would just remove the license plate and cover up vin, but they can tow your arse for that too. I see so many cars without plates though driving through the city.

I fell victim to the boot as well over jazz fest. Apparently, for some unpaid parking tickets circa 2014. It’s real folks, they will get you. Pay those parking and camera tickets.

Whatever happened to LaToya ridding of the cameras?

I live in Mid City. dont park on the street during jazz, vodoo, endymion, any of those events. luckily I have a driveway and just pull my shite all the way into the back and leave it all weekend during those events.

I refuse to pay those freaking tickets. Last one i got was for going 1 over.

Technically no but I would change your plate or not park on the street.

The few times I’ve gotten a camera ticket I paid them. I’m downtown a lot and have to park on the street from time to time.

My wife gets a tickets a month it feels like and has been booted many of times since we’ve been together.

Yea. There’s a 5mph grace period

Although, I did get a speeding notification ticket for going 10 over in a school zone, but looking at the date it happened on a Sunday. Thanks Mitch

Is there any way to tell if you have one of these citations before they hit the mail. Think I got one the other day, and just want to pay and get it over with.

No they can’t.

And they only check your plate if you’re parked on a public street if you pay to park, you’re fine.

Probably not but you’ll get the notification within a week. For as lazy and backwards that city is, one thing they are quick on is getting money from you.
