MONROE COUNTY, MS- Authorities in Mississippi say a 9-year-old boy shot his 13-year-old sister in the head after an argument over a video game controller.
Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell told local news outlets that the girl wouldn't give up the video game controller when her brother wanted it on Saturday. Cantrell says the boy then shot the girl in the back of the head..

Video games themselves don't cause violence, but the violence in video games make real violence easier for the kids addicted to them.

Agreed in that it desensitizes them. Same as violence in movies. I think it’s more the context tho. Kids weren’t killing each other back when we watched Road Runner/bugs Bunny/ TOM & Jerry cartoons. The violence was put in a different context.

We should really pass some laws that say that 9 year olds can’t buy guns.

A 9 year old shooting his 13 year old sister is the fault of the parents. Plain and simple. Stop trying to look for scapegoats for shitty parenting.

Video games desensitize violence.

It’s not the video games. The mental illness epidemic in this country can be traced back to taking God out of the classroom.

That'll teach her to share next time.

Schools can’t respomsible for everything. At some point parents need to be parents.

My friend is a psychiatrist and he calls video games "gaystations" because all the patients he treats for gayness play them.

Blame the feeling of a high violent nation on 24 hour news and over sensationalization.
