Yeah bro. They did away with plagerism penalties and citing of proper sources. It’s all wiki now.

When you wrote term papers did you have to turn it into a site that scans the internet for same phrasing or sentence structure, because students do now?

I would have been so screwed. I was in college basically in the early 2000s. Any time I had a term paper to write, I'd pick a topic that I had already found a similar paper online for.

Obviously if there was some shite scanning, I would have been screwed, but I would just change up the entire structure of the paper, reword it, and be done with it.

Education rules!!!

I remember writing a term paper in AP US history on Japanese interment camps and found like no sources my teacher would approve. You had to provide each source to the teacher for her to review. If it was a book, you had to give her the book. If you had rented it from the library, too bad.

I still remember coming back and being surprised that the Japanese were allowed to leave the interment camps to go work during that whole fiasco. But my essay was not very good. I got a B.

My college term paper i still bring up in job interviews to this day. Looking at macro economics of trade agreements. Very impressive

Should it have just been a Japanese death camp? What are you saying?

No, I just remember being surprised reading about how the Japanese interns had jobs in the local towns and they would work in those towns during the day before returning at night. That’s not something I knew before going in.

And that’s almost all I can remember. I just think of potatoes whenever I remember that. As I said, my essay wasn’t very good.

We had to submit that in November and it was nearly March or April before she had graded all of them.

Its actually much harder to plagiarize these days. Most schools run papers through digital libraries that compare their likeness and word structure to every book there is, as well as other papers written by other students. These plagiarism services also pull from the "paper writing services" websites and internet search engines.

They must be pretty good @ restructuring the information to make it look there own.

Do you use technology mentioned above to see if plagiarism occurs or go through every paper individually and check online?

With footnotes,
didn't write with footnotes until law school. Work cited page/bibliography for all prior papers. I had a ton of upper level political science classes with term papers.
