When is the last time you have been to a Costco? Old people don't care about anyone else.

I wish my wit was as quick as yours, I've been sitting here trying to think of something funny to post and you blow everyone out the water with this.
Jesus man, well done. Well fricking done.
He really touched a nerve, didn't he?

My dad was kind of like that. He’d have one-sided conversations that the other party clearly had no interest
I was gonna say the same thing. My dad trying to tell a story to the waiter at a Mexican restaurant, who neither spoke nor understood a word of English.

I was going to say the same thing. Old people seem to be way more guilty of this than anyone else. Maybe it's because they're retired & have nothing to do all day while the rest of us have 100 things going on at the same time.

Stuff like this used to irritate me to no end.
If someone apologizes to me about a wait, I tell them “it’s okay - it’s not a race.”
It’s never the oblivious offender this thread is about so it doesn’t enable the bad actors. It’s a way of telling people who are truly apologetic that it’s okay, I realize things happen and if something as inconsequential as waiting in line an extra couple of minutes ruins my day, my life must be pretty miserable. Think of the good things in your life and petty BS becomes a lot less irritating.

What about boat landings? Clueless MF’ers back their boat down to the water, then get out and leisurely start loading their gear in the boat, take off the tiedowns, etc.Tie up a landing for 15-20 minutes.

I am not even going to read your post but will say a lot of women fit this bill
Posted on 5/28/25 at 3:34 pm to burger bearcat
What? Of course, literally every single woman.

Maybe it’s an in the moment thing. Hell, I just got in the wrong truck at the C store. I parked at the end, went in to get an energy drink since I’m running on about 3 hours of sleep, walk out and got in the first Toyota truck I came to toward the end. It. Wasn’t. My. Rental.
Ooops

What a bizarre reaction to that comment

Yes and yes. They have done studies that show people with lower intelect legitimately perceive less of the world around them in a given situation, where more inteligent people are more acutely aware of what is going on around them at any given point.
So, there is a point that yes, a lot of people that seem to have no situational awareness, legitimately do not and are not aware that they are inconveniencing others.

Yes.
I was stopped on Freret yesterday as a large SUV uber stops in the middle of the street. They are exiting to go to a restaurant to the left of the car so they must cross traffic.
The car in the incoming lane is a responsible baw in a lifted truck.
A man exits from the driver side rear. So he obviously sees the truck. And waves at the truck as it lets him walk in front to cross the street.
Now the baw in the truck starts inching forward just barely. Anticipating the woman to cross any moment now.
She exits the passenger rear door and walks behind the SUV.
She is fiddling with her purse or her phone or something. And as she appears from behind the SUV in the other lane she takes a step into the lane and sees the truck (which is going like 0.25mph) and she looks at it and is STARTLED by its presence.
This woman didn’t look into the other lane, stop in the safety behind the SUV to even check, if it had been a totally brain dead idiot it could’ve been bad.
The baw and I looked at each other as we passed and shook our heads.

You should see my wife (no pics) pushing a buggy around a store. Absolutely ZERO awareness of anyone around her. My kids and I like to follow at a distance and watch the show. She is going to cut off or nearly run over the wrong lady one day and get her arse kicked.

The other day a woman at the tire store wanted to chat it up for 10 minutes without letting the employee get a word in, everything from the weather, her family, gas prices, her entire life, etc with 5 people before her in line, many of whom looked to be needing to get back to work.
Sometimes people are lonely. That may have been the only human interaction she had all week.

I think it's more of simply don't care. Look at all the flights with people causing issues. Get in your seat, sit down, shut up, and get off at your destination.

I can't believe how many of you fricking dumbasses have blathered on about situational awareness, when there's a rule on this forum and the OP hasn't followed it.
