Lonely and DGAF.
I have a neighbor like this, wretched woman... we try to avoid her at all costs, but every now and again she'll snag one of us for a 45min/3 cigarettes bitch fest as we take out the trash.

I think it’s a combination of WFH and eager for a human to interact with and just no giving a f***
Me and a buddy paired up with another twosome on the golf course last weekend. Worst case scenario. Slow and bad. Was backing the whole course up. Looking for balls way too long, playing with their golf phone apps forever, digging around their bag for god knows what, hitting multiple balls even tho people where already waiting by the tee box.
They were completely oblivious they were doing anything wrong. Several times we hinted at them that people were waiting. Other times we drove on ahead while they still haven’t hit. Never once got any sense of urgency to them.
On hole 13 there was such a big gap that we just went ahead and played ahead of them. Never said a word. Never saw another group and finished up, had a beer in the clubhouse, chatted a bit by the trucks, and finally could see them still skanking it around now on 17 with a line of carts on the tee box.

Holy shite are you a comedian?
This is the most hysterical thing I have ever heard. How did you come up with this?
I wish my wit was as quick as yours, I've been sitting here trying to think of something funny to post and you blow everyone out the water with this.
Jesus man, well done. Well fricking done.

I worked with a guy just like this. Never shut up. Just talked constantly about nothing. It was never a conversation - it was more of a verbal assault bc he didnt give a shite what you thought about anything. He just wanted you to know his opinion on everything. Everyone fricking hated him intensely. People would walk away from him in mid-conversation bc that was the only option to get away.

Yep. I’m not lonely, but I’ve lived alone for the past year and notice I’m way chattier. I do try to be considerate about it, but I don’t remember it being an issue in the past.

We call it ear rape.

To top it off, the witchy woman has four or five yappin arse chihuahuas... we've lived here over 24yrs... and have had four or five sets of neighbors in that one house- she's the one that'll eventually drive us to post a for sale sign.

up for 10 minutes without letting the employee get a word in, everything from the weather, her family, gas prices, her entire life, etc with 5 people before her in line, many of whom looked to be needing to get back to
It’s not that they don’t, they just don’t care about the next person in line.
That simple. People are pretty shitty for the most part.

I won’t allow it. MIL tries to do this to me and I hit her with the peace sign.

I'd *like* to do that... but unlike my MIL, I have to live next to this wildebeest. I really want her to call 911 if my house catches fire.

Look, I can handle so much. But sometimes I have to just shut her down because her own children do not know how and therefore allowed her to become what she is.
She’s gotten a lot better.

If she wants someone at her bedside when she’s not able to move around as much she will make that call.

Thankfully my MIL is not also my neighbor, lol... although given the choice, I'd rather live next to MIL... our boundaries were well set many moons ago.

Sometimes I feel like I'm surrounded by idiots, and it's getting more and more frequent.
People on their damn cellphones while driving, and just as bad, parked first in line at a red light that finally turns green and just sitting there glued to that damn screen instead of paying attention to driving.
I've seen people walk into telephone poles, out in busy traffic, stumbling over curbs because they are glued to that screen in their hands instead of watching where they are walking.
Or the inconsiderate SOB's that are in the checkout line with 5 people behind them and they want to tell their life's story to the cashier as they ring up their 3 item purchase.
And these are just a few examples. I don't have the time or inclination to go into it in full detail.

If you are in behind a black guy and it’s a black girl checking people out or whatever, you can bet the house that once the black guy gets to the front he will start sniffing on that thang and it will be social hour. The black guy has total disregard for those behind him because he’s trying to score and the black chick doesn’t give a frick because she’s not working. Win win for 2 of them. Lose lose for all the rest of us in line.
Pay attention next time you are in a line. You'll see it.

I’m all about a well timed “shhhhhh”
It is super maddening but it makes me happier
The offended are like “holy shite did I just get shushed? Yep.

Slow Down...
Stuff like this used to irritate me to no end. Now I look at it as something in the universe telling me to slow down. This rat race is going to kill us all.
