when I was a kid 99% of my indoor play time was in my room. Nowadays it seems like kids play throughout the whole home with toys everywhere.

We have a dedicated playroom so no? My kids mostly play outside or play room.

There's your answer. People can afford houses these days with more space for things of this nature.

Depends on the age. From what I have seen, after about 10-11 years old they come out of their room to eat and that’s about it.

They can’t watch “mommy’s phone” in their rooms

It always irks me to go into someone’s house and the living room and kitchen are littered with toys and Disney is blasting on the big screen. I think more marriages would survive if adult time and spaces were given more value.

A friend of mine is knocking the wall down between his son's playroom and bedroom cause the 10 yr old wants a "bachelor pad"

Kid is always in his room playing video games on his 3 tv's. No lie. Spoiled kid has 3 flat-screens on his wall and a mini fridge lol

We have a large basement with everything the kids could ask for, including a trampoline. They still prefer to be in the family room ir in their rooms. Granted I have three girls 8 and under. We will see how it changes as they get older

You're behind, it's no longer the phone. It's "mommy's iPad"

Ours don’t even go outside. They’ll decide to randomly play pitch and catch with an actual baseball in the middle of the living room while we’re watching a movie. Then they get pissed when we tell them to stop or go outside. I don’t get it.

My daughter is 2 and plays in her room, but she also sometimes brings her toys to other parts of our house to play with us, too.
