to the uninitiated, there is actually a large market for modded iPods for audiophiles and/or people who want to actually own their music vs be nickel and dimed to death for streaming services

You can have apple music for ~$10/mo, assuming the OP paid ~$.50 per song on his phone (it was probably more unless he illegally downloaded them), he would have to pay for 54 years worth of apple music subscriptions to equal that amount.

Had to be the absolutely slowest wifi speed I have ever seen. It was quicker to find the cable, start up computer and copy paste the mp3 to the unit than WiFi it.

That is how I got xm radio into my 2001 expedition. Better than an fm transmitter.

Around 2008 I bought an ipod. It wouldn't let me load my pirated music so I ditched it and never bought another apple product.

Just buy a used phone from swappa.com

Don't activate it.

Use it as an ipod.

Have at it

Yes, and I do that too. I’m streaming Apple Music right now.

But, I also like to support my favorite bands. I also like the idea of having a library of music that is: curated specifically to music that I like, doesn’t require the internet to listen to, is high quality, and I have the ability to keep forever and put on any device I wish.

There are also free music apps through the public library and you can check out CDs from the library and rip them. So there are ways to do it free.

Either way, I don’t expect most to understand. Kind of like the watch threads where someone always has to ask why buy a watch when your phone is a clock. To each their own.

How old is the car you bought?

Most new cars come with a car-play system for Android devices now.

So is this 13000 songs in iTunes that you can stream through any modern Apple device or is this 13000 mp3 files you bought from Apple that are stored on the hard drive of the iPod?

Seems if you just dropped $40k-$100k on a brand new car you could easily afford whatever the oldest model iPhone is on Swappa, probably $100.

Might be easier for you to keep the iPod at your home to listen to, but use Spotify or Apple Music streaming your car. just giving you a suggestion.

They make money by streams now. Honestly streaming their song’s repeatedly probably helps them more than you purchasing a song once.

This is all true for Apple Music.
