Also, that medication seems to be more of an antidepressant.

It's pretty commonly prescribed for sleep problems.

It shouldn’t because I occasionally take two if I can’t get to sleep

I didn't realize this board had so many doctors on it. With all of these replies filled with educated assumptions.

I take 100 to 200mg a night and can't imagine why you would need to take 600mg. I would ask to switch medicines

Sleep is overrated.

When your brain and body need sleep, you will sleep.

Maybe you only need 4 or 5 hours of sleep a night. Too many of us have been brainwashed by the old adage of needing to get 8 hours of sleep a night. Many of us don't need that much sleep.

Stop fretting about it.

Find one post I made and provide facts that I copied and pasted from a google post. If I did it shouldn't be hard to prove.

Ok but when I don’t sleep well it triggers a manic episode so that doesn’t really work for me

I think my vraylar needs increasing

I called my pcp and the nurse said she couldn’t believe the nurse at my psychiatrist’s office told me to take 450. And she said there wasn’t really anything stronger

I'm a amateur gynecologist. I would advise against it. See you PCD soon as possible.

I can't speak for Paige and I would rather not share this, but since people make all types of assumptions, for some people it really isn't that simple.

Years ago I got to the point where I would be unable to sleep.. I would go two, sometimes three nights unable to sleep or only getting an hour or so of sleep. By the third or fourth day, I would be exhausted to the point of struggling to function. I would be tired as hell and still couldn't fall asleep.

My body needed sleep, I just couldn't fall asleep. After a long time I finally decided to go to the doctor. I take something every day that helps me sleep at night.

So its really not as simple as some people might assume.

My ex wife (who is in the medical field) just could not comprehend the idea of insomnia. Ive had it since I was a child and while it would come and go (working a bunch of hours and working out was a huge help but physically I can't do that anymore).... i was put on a horrible antidepressant for sleep (wasn't told it was an antidepressant) and it royally messed me up. After I figured out that the pill was causing me serious problems the doctor (and his top nurse) said that they would not and could not tell me what the side effects were because they didn't know enough about the drug.

Trazadone gives me serious dry mouth,150mg a night, it is a well known side effect. 600 mg should knock out a elephant. better double check that dosage.

Im so sorry to hear this. Being so tired and not being able to sleep is pretty crappy. Hope you have a good support system when it hits.

Still working on it. My doctor is avoiding giving me two drugs that would help me sleep. I understand totally why he doesn't want to give them to me because one is addictive and while he knows i wouldn't abuse it he is cautious of the 'optics' of it.

The antidepressant I was on for sleep was really REALLY messing me up. I couldn't really see what it was doing to me and the people closest to me were scared of me (not trying to sound like a bad arse but my mom had said she talked to my dad about having a gun near by cause if i was gonna go mental one night there was nothing short of shooting me to stop me).

I had given up drinking but was still buying alcohol.... i would pour most down the sink then buy more. I would black out..... i would lay in bed then later that night I would be neatly refolding towels, tshirts, gym shorts. Id come to cleaning my shower..... hardcore cleaning it. I was also fainting several times a night. Sorry for the long reply.

I’m going to throw this out there: you may need a lot less trazadone. The way trazadone works on receptors changes at higher doses and it’s hitting some of the same receptors as Vrylar.

You're too fricking stupid to even understand what I'm saying. When your first reply is

I googled and saw the same thing.

then

Knowing absolutely nothing about it,

followed by a long, empty, meaningless paragraph of your opinion, maybe you should just not make that post?
