9-5 my arse, more like 7-5:30. I can’t say that I’ve ever heard of someone that had to be at work at 9am. Sure there are jobs where employees can come and go as they please as long as they finish what they’re supposed to. But having a hard time of 9-5 to be at work just seems ridiculous.

In software it's more like 10-4 with an hour lunch

I roll out of bed at about 830. Make some coffe and head out onto the porch to smoke a cigarette, check my emails, and read Twitter. Go take a shite and grab another cup of coffee. Walk upstairs and log on between 9 and 930. Hourish lunch for a nap or run out to grab some food. I’m usually off by 5 unless shite hits the fan.

It’s tough, but someone has to do it.

Same that's my wife's official hours.

I usually do 6:30-5 4/10 schedule.

Most of the W2 cubicle sitters spend the first two hours of the day drinking coffee and taking a poopie so it ain’t the looooong hours they like to complain about.

I don't really have set hours. I work 32 hours some weeks and 50 hours in others.

9-5 jobs definitely exist. They're for people who want to half-arse their way through a career and wonder why they got laid off at 53 in favor of new blood.

Does everyone get a paid lunch hour? We don’t get paid for lunch so our shifts are 8-5 or 9-6.

I’m in salary, so I make myself feel better by saying I have a paid lunch

Then when I want to make myself feel even better, I don’t think that way and my rate goes up
