re: Diwali fireworks disturbing people in Frisco

I only know about it from the seemingly random fireworks (not really random I just always forget when it is until i hear them)
Honestly bear no animosity toward the people who celebrate or the celebration itself…
But Diwali as an increasing mainstay in American life makes zero sense and is just another dumb result of treating the US as an economic zone instead of a people/culture/etc.

Will you ask them to tone it down moving forward? I don’t see why you can’t ask.

The final narrative was that rednecks do it for Fourth Of July, too and everyone who shoots fireworks in the city limits needs to be punished.
This reminds me of the argument OT moderates make when illegals kill American citizens, molest kids, or commit other violent felonies.
Basically "well we have Democrat voters that are American citizens that commit the vast majority of violent crime in the US, so this is OK too".
It really is a solid argument when you think about it like a retarded person.

I lived in a neighborhood where I was a minority. They celebrated Diwali. If we complained because they were popping fireworks at 10 pm on a school night they called us racist and brought up 4th of July. Well 4th of July is a holiday and everyone typically has off and I typically go out to see fireworks. It was miserable and I’m glad to be out of it. They were generally nasty and divisive people.

It’s a real liberal conundrum because Karens are livid their dogs are being terrified but they want to be seen as accepting of all cultures.
You think Frisco housewives are liberal? Not even close. There are more Bible Study groups of women than anywhere I’ve ever lived.
Fireworks last night were insane. I’m used to hearing fireworks bc I don’t live far from where the Frisco Roughriders play and they have firework displays often. Last night it seemed to go on forever so I knew it wasn’t that.
Truthfully, we have much more irritating concerns here than fireworks. We are so over developed now that the city can’t keep up with the infrastructure. Just waiting for the right waterfront lot to hit the market in Oak Point and I’m out of here.

I have found this to be true. This board is in love with the H1B Indians for some reason.
Please note:
1) They do not love America or its people. They believe we (White, Black, East Asian, and Latinos) are all beneath them.
2) They just want to make money. Sometimes they do it through hard work and become drs etc. Most of the time they grift and find ways to trick people. They see America as an economic zone only.
3) Their numbers have increased to the point that they believe they can force us to bow down to them.
4) This was all caused by the H1B visa fiasco they both Trump and Musk support. So much for America first.
5) They will never assimilate. They tend to take over neighborhoods and drive others out. Did you know the parents keep the children in line by putting all their assets in a conservatorship? All their money and houses etc. I know a doctor who is in her 30s and cant access any of her own money. Her parents control her this way. She tried getting a lawyer to get out of it but then got afraid. Her parents are vengeful and want her to marry some ugly dude from delhi. I feel so sad for her.
So yeah. These freaks are ruining our country. I would much prefer the Mexicans keep coming over in droves. They at least assimilate. They also have great food and are friendly.

The groups, the progressives, or both?

Speaking of Indians, I was up in the Smoky Mountains this past weekend, between Gatlinburg and Cherokee, and half of India must have been up there taking pictures. I suppose there's a connection out there somewhere.
Not that it was a bad thing, but it was more than just a little noticeable.
They're everywhere touristy. Go to Niagara Falls - it's more like Nagpur Falls.

They apparently haven’t lived near the Hood enough if they can’t tell gunshots from fireworks.
Damn rich, entitled white folk!!

Indians are not smart enough to be trusted with fireworks.

how about neither?
although, i completely agree with your assessment of Indians here. I’ve had plenty experience with them over the last decade and a half in corporate IT. They are a net negative for our country, I don’t give a frick about their food.

I use Indians a lot in this discussion exactly because I don't bear any real prejudice/animosity towards them. If I had to pick a non-western culture that meshed reasonably well with us from the far flung spots on the globe they'd be on the short list, perhaps.
But....there is still no reason for it, and that's the point. We have no shared culture, history, border, etc. There is absolutely no reason to have Indian enclaves on US soil. I'm not a huge "heritage American" guy (I'm a "meaningful American" guy - ie, you should want to adopt our values and way of life and accept supplanting most of your culture with ours), but I do think there is merit for the idea that the people who died, built, sweat, toiled and so forth for this place did it for their children and their children's children, not for anyone who showed up looking for a job while still waiving their home country flag.
