I understand your point here about the child support that you are paying but peace with your children’s mom is priceless. Why not offer to buy the shoes and give her $100 to help with uniforms? Be the stand-up dad and don’t give her a reason to talk bad about you to your kids.

Good lord. Does she work or did you just make 95% of the household income? Do y’all have 50-50? Just asking because that’s in incredible amount of money to have to pay for CS.

nope. can't stand kids. but can't do anything about it according to doctors.

That’s $400 a month for food, $200 for clothes. That’s plenty for 2 kids.
Guess they will sleep on the street.
Shelter, transportation, savings for college...
A lot of people have no understanding of what child support is for.

She works some now, didn't the last 18 years of the marriage. We are almost 50/50 I think she has them 55% and I 45%. Yes it is a lot.

She can spend it however she likes baw and there’s not a damned thing you can do about it.
As a married, mother of 3, shame on any momma that doesn't spend the money in ways that benefits her kids.

What if it puts her in a better mental state to be a mother?

How can 600$ a month cover anything for 2 boys
Who on earth is downvoting this? Have y’all not bought groceries these days? $300 to feed, clothe, and take care of one child for one month in 2020 is nothing.

I deduct shite like that from her CS and she never says anything. Chess brah.
Posted on 7/29/20 at 10:53 am to lucaslsu
Then when they are 17 she takes you back to court with all the evidence of underpaying child support and the judge makes you back back support and adds on an a-hole tax

I know a lot of men will disagree with me, but this right here should be exhibit A as to why you should WANT to marry and procreate with a woman who has a career and makes close to or better than what you do. You run the risk of getting a divorce whether you marry someone who stays home with kids or works outside the home and has a well paying career. If you should get divorced to a SAHM of that many years you are just asking to be taken to the cleaners.

That’s $400 a month for food

isn't the intent of child support to cover food, shelter, and clothing?
The intent? Yes but rarely is it spent on the kids. 3/4 will be spent on her social life or on personal items for her. You’ll still buy the majority of clothes, gifts, and pay for school. There needs to be a mandatory review of finances of each parent every 3 years where you present receipts of expenditures on the child directly. If the father is spending more than the mother still on basic items for the kid, he should have his child support reduced.

Yep, it's a no win situation for a divorced dad. You just have to suck it up and spend money on top of the child support.
It is what it is and it will be that way until the kid(s) reach 18. Just have to get your mind to accept that CS is out of your control.
Amenz!
Women are da debil!
But the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter and I will get to keep some of my MFin money one day.

Nah, I'm good. Sounds like a good way to be out more money.
She shows a $1k rent/mortgage for a 3BR house plus just reasonable food purchases and you will be done.

quote:Yes, because marrying strictly for money is the way to go. Good luck with that. How many women do you know you make comparable salaries especially to the oilfield here in Louisiana? Most women who work full time here make $30,000-45,000 a year.
why you should WANT to marry and procreate with a woman who has a career and makes close to what you do.
