I’ll see you and raise you house/truck/boat repossession and liquidated 401k. After a decade and a half of making well over 6 figures and having the finer things in life I ended up living in a “modest” 2 br apt driving a 98 tracer until I got back on my feet.

It's not that bad if your ex/soon to be ex isn't a vindictive count. Mine went smooth as hell, but we both put the needs of the child first. We are actually good friends now.

I'm hoping for this. I don't hate her at all. I'm upset, but I want us to have a healthy co-parenting ability.

I once knew a guy that told his wife the following when she told him she loved someone else and wanted a divorce: “I have $25,000 in savings. Either you can have it, and nothing more, or I will use it to pay someone to kill you.”

This is the most awesome thing I've ever heard.

You didn’t tell us the ending where she brought this threat to the judge and took him for everything.

FFS people. The guy is going through a hard time. It’s not a competition to see who has had it the hardest. This is like telling someone you know how they feel after they lose a loved one because you too have lost someone. It doesn’t help a thing and immediately calls attention to yourself and your pain.

I legit think my in laws would disown my wife and keep me in that situation.

Hell, her brother would be the one getting shitfaced with me in the empty house.

Be sure to not lie to the judge. You'll regret it if you do and get caught.

By the time women say they want a divorce, it's been over for a while. Often we just didn't realize it.
