This kampground was the most disgusting and filthy place I’ve ever stayed and that includes two years in the ghetto of Shanghai. The office to check in was so disgusting I could not even go inside. The overpowering eye burning smell and sight if cat urine and feces made me sick. There were at least 20 cats that had been kept in the office. The public bathrooms and showers were not any better. We were to afraid to bath in it for three days. The roads in the park were very washed out and rutted. The campsite sewer was so full, it had not been cleaned out in months. We could not empty out tanks. We had made reservations for $50/night but got charged $55/night. I realize this area was hit by Katrina 12 years ago and diligent responsible management would have recovered by now. The place needs some responsible care. It seemed that half the residents were permanent and had no pride in their spaces. There were Good Sam approval signs on the property but they gave obviously not seen this place in many years. Final thought is Don’t Stay Here. Suggest Pine Crest next door.

What did they expect? It's New Orleans.

It’s not a KOA campground anymore.

It’s just a trailer park now.

They are just providing an authentic NOLA experience.

How do you stay for 3 days if it was that bad?

In Slidell, which is actually worse than New Orleans.

The other NOLA area KOA is around the Kenner/River Ridge border at the river.

I’d advise campers there to lock the RV door and not venture out too much.

I’m pretty sure KOA attracts the Trump types.

Why in the hell would anyone think it’s a good idea to go camping in da east

Guess we'll have to park the camper under the interstate again.
