Sounds like he was trying to do Mardi Gras for cheap. That’s what your get for staying at a KOA in the swamp.

I drive past this place on the way to the Rigolets.
A new group of owners recently bought this place within the last month or two. Hopefully they get it right.

The place needs some responsible care. It seemed that half the residents were permanent and had no pride in their spaces.

Sounds like they might have been not in a campground but a neighborhood without an hoa.

Who the frick camps in Louisiana

Oh people who travel for jobs (traveling nurses, master craftsmen (bf's job) , specialists, etc).

People who are RV vacationers on a roadtrip and go thru Louisiana because there are great camprounds in La.

People who got flooded and set up RV's Full time at campgrounds because they are like small cities. Monthly rent includes elec, water, cable, internet, etc. Hookup takes 15 minutes, if that.

We enjoyed time at one in La. Lived there a few months and there was never a bit of trouble, they maintained the property beautifully, no unruly kids, no obnoxious neighbors.

KOA makes sure their places all over the nation maintain certain standards and this one sounds like it is failing miserably.

The KOA we stayed at underwent a mandatory corporate inspection while we were living there and we were given guidelines as to what residents needed to do to comply and we were all already in compliance because we value our community.

But New Olreans East/Slidell - well they are like an anchor and will bring anything good down.

It's odd for a KOA to be this trashy. KOA has Workampers which are people who camp and work at the Campgrounds (seasonal, full time , part-time, whatever) and live on the premises for free.

So our KOA employees often are retired professionals and other equally decent employees. So believe me, these people care about the neighborhood and they keep the place impeccable. We had an abundance of such Workampers in residence.

Sounds like the New Orleans East/Slidell KOA needs to hire some new "Workampers" from places beyond the cesspools of local talent.

KOA in River Ridge is good. Stay there twice a year. Continuing Education in Kenner. Nice people and no problems. Be doing for 15+ years. The other nice RV park is French Quarter RV Resort. However its pricey.
