And when they do that, are your parents out there condemning their speech?

No, because their elected/appointed politicians are their mouthpieces.

I am surprised that you know more about my parents than I do. You must have dinner with them regularly.

No. One person did it on his show, the other person didn't.

What radical thing did she say?

He said unvaccinated people should be left to die.

Yeah, let's compare.

Buddy if this can get you fired then I’ve got bad news for you about a lot of people you support ?

I'd be good with that. Tired of liars.

I lean right and can’t stand Kimmel but this shouldn’t get anyone fired.

It’s a slippery slope if we start censoring tv based on points of view. What he said wasn’t that bad. The View says shite way worse every day.

That’s why I hate politics because of the double standard and both sides do it. Imagine what the right would be saying if they pulled Gutfeld over something similar?

What a liar.

Are you pretending like the Democrat party hasnt made it known they think MAGA is racist, fascist and homophobic?

Who said "Basket of deplorables?"

Well over half of your D friends were happy about it, in all likelihood.

He probably looked at late show ratings in general and made an educated guess.

I just can’t get over people crying about the constitution for the cancellation of a failing show with a hated host who stakeholders put the knives out for

There is nothing remarkable here.

Nope

They’re good people.

I know that’s a difficult concept for everyone right now, but that’s the real world.

I’m sorry you have a wildly unrealistic understanding of the character of your friend group. But it explains the massive gulf between your narrative and the reality.

If they think words are violence, they are not good people.

If they call people "phobes" or racist" for having opposing ideals, they are not good people.

It's not the canceling of the show, it's the FCC pressure that influenced the decision which is concerning, just like the Biden admin strong-arming social media companies to censor stuff they didn't like.

This is also a terrible own goal by the Rs. Jimmy Kimmel was a perfect example of the failing D propaganda apparatus - a hack comedian doing political bits on a major network to an ever-dwindling audience of boomer cat ladies. Letting him continue to spiral downward until ABC was forced to pull the plug on their own accord was the perfect play, but now they made him into a martyr.

I have no issue with a business firing someone over saying hateful shite. I do however have a problem with the government in any capacity going after anyone for saying hateful shite. ABC fired him, good, he’s an a-hole. If Pam Bondi goes after him, or the FCC, that’s not good. We better be careful what we wish for, we just might get it.

Agree.

It's the fact he's now cheering when free speech is cancelled. I don't like Kimmel. But horse hair is a hypocrite.

There is no evidence of that other than Carr being happy about it.

Regardless, it’s certainly not concerning to me. The left is going to resume targeting conservatives and traditional families regardless. We’ve gotten our arse handed to us by trying to stick to classically liberal values that our opposition has disregarded for years.

We can try and reclaim ground or we can shout “we took the high road!” into the void.
