Disneyland blasts state’s guidance as theme park to remain closed amid coronavirus

LINK

Disneyland is likely to be closed for several more weeks, following long-awaited pandemic guidance released Tuesday by the state of California.

Theme parks are allowed to reopen only when the county in which they are located is outside the red tier of the state’s four-tier opening system.

Because of the outbreak in Orange County, where Disneyland is based, it could be weeks or months before the coronavirus criteria is met.

quote:

A statement from Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock said, “We have proven that we can responsibly reopen, with science-based health and safety protocols strictly enforced at our theme park properties around the world. Nevertheless, the State of California continues to ignore this fact, instead mandating arbitrary guidelines that it knows are unworkable and that hold us to a standard vastly different from other reopened businesses and state-operated facilities. Together with our labor unions we want to get people back to work, but these State guidelines will keep us shuttered for the foreseeable future, forcing thousands more people out of work, leading to the inevitable closure of small family-owned businesses, and irreparably devastating the Anaheim/Southern California community.”

And you guys think Louisiana’s leadership is crap. At least you aren’t California or Illinois. They are even worse.

Restaurants and bars in the most of the Chicago suburbs are heading into winter with an “outdoor dining only” mandate.

Texas has 50% capacity at bars and none of the 11 pm shutdown, no one under 21, no live music nonsense of LA.

There appears to be an inverse relationship between state leadership quality and state tax rate.

I’m jealous of Texas and Florida in particular.

Texas has honestly handled this like semi-democrat pussies as well

MS, Fl, and GA are the governors who handled it best

What's even better here is that the main reason Orange County is not yet in the lower tiers is because of the rate of infection among minority groups, the so-called health equity requirement.

Even though the rate of infection in Orange County is likely low enough now to re-open most of the economic sectors, because the rate among minorities is higher, the county still cannot fully re-open.

I kid you not.

Disney World, which is the most visited theme park on the planet, has been open for months. The fact that Disneyland is still closed is freaking asinine.

Progressives are all-in on the coronavirus. I hope everyone is ready for a national mask mandate and going back into shutdown if Biden wins. Covid has become a religion to the left

I’m not sure which way it’s going to go when Biden gets elected, maybe it calms down but it’s easier to control people when half the country believes and lives by what they see on TV and social media.

If Biden wins we have bigger problems than a mask mandate.

They wanted this.

They can live with it.

Why are people always surprised when TV e government grabs new powers and then doesn’t give them up?

Same with Monterey County. Most of the cases are in Salinas, not Monterey, Carmel, or Pebble Beach.
