Add in the cost for kids,

The wild thing is that for 2 adults it was 5K, to add 2 kids was only 1K more.

It can still be profitable, it just needs a little theme adjustment.

While I agree that 5k is dramatically overpriced, this comment misses the point. It's not envisioned, developed, or marketed at being a luxury resort. It's marketed as a once in a lifetime interactive experience for the rich and well off.

It is what it is advertised to be.

It doesn’t really appear to be that though.

It seems simple and lackluster. The interactive aspects look bland and the rooms look simple.

They could have done so much more.

You vastly underestimate how much those costumes cost to create.

You mean how much credit card debt they go into to solidify their nerd-dom.

My friend who is a Star Wars geek - and a single dude - asked if we would like to go there back when he first heard about it. When he listed the price tag I almost choked. We're not broke but if I'm going to drop five grand on something it isn't going to be on a few days of a geek vacation with uncomfortable beds. I'll do some minor home improvement instead.
