Disney has just announced that the rest of the Disney Internships & Programs Cast Members will be sent home by April 17th. The Disney Internships & Programs will be suspended effective April 18th.

This set of programs provides all of the college kids who work in the shops, cleaning crews, some in ride operations, etc. This also includes all the cultural exchange programs, of which the big part is all of the workers in the countries in World Showcase in Epcot.

I always figured Disney World would reopen in a staged format that would require less workers at first. But it looks like that staged reopening might be at least a month away, if not more.

They announced two weeks ago that most cast members would be paid to April 13 then furloughed indefinitely.

The earliest a reservation can currently be made is June 1st. Sporting events and theme parks will be the last of all allowed openings so I would be surprised if they are open by July.

The program turns over at the end of May anyway. This would not effect a June 1 reopening.

It really depends on the virus over the next 6 weeks. If the UW model holds true it will be open in June with full operations by July 4 week.

Covid will never 0 out, even if there is a vaccine. After this 1st wave, we will just deal with it.

We are as far from summer as January. A lot can happen in the next 4 or 5 weeks.

No doubt, the Asian Disney parks have sold them for years.
